For those who don't know, a tethering program lets you control your camera from your computer (and your phone via this program). You can make adjustments and even see real time full screen results. The big advantages to this are being able to do complex actions such as time lapse, varied DOF, bracketing etc...easier (SOME bodies have these features built in).

I originally got it to bring with me as a quick file dump (it has an SD card slot), but found more and more ways to make it useful as time went on. Its been about 2 years and its still chugging along like a champion.
