Now that Anheuser-Busch has gone and done their hero salute www.herosalute.com, has anyone heard if Disney is going to do the same? As far as I can remember, everytime AB gave the military tickets, Disney has done the same. Anyone with some inside info?

Thanks for mentioning this. I just got the email about Busch's stuff today, so I would be interested to know what Disney is doing.

Since Disney is getting ready with their new Celebration, they are probably expecting large crowds that are willing to pay rack rates to be at WDW so I doubt if Disney will be letting Military families in for free.

If they DO do it, I'm sure they will stop it when the New Celebrations begin in May.

they gave us free tickets during the 100 years of magic for the whole year. It doesnt really matter to me, im going in june no matter what. However, if AB gives free tickets to seaworld, and later universal follows with free tickets to universal orlando (which usually happens as well) , what would you do if you were Disney...have all those military people stay on your property at the Shades of Green and go elsewhere???

I am still very hopeful, mainly because of all of my military brothers who did not get to take care of the last military salute because they were deployed.

Boy I feel stupid now. A few weeks ago I checked the Busch Gardens promotions and they were having one ONLY for soldiers who were deployed during their last promotion. Since my husband wasn't deployed at that time therefore making us ineligible I just went ahead and bought my Sea World tickets on base and used them last week.

Had I known they just started this new promotion I would have saved myself the hundred bucks. Darnit!

BTW - Disney gave away military admissions in 2003. My husband and I flew down and he got a free 4 day park hopper and mine was only $100.

Oh wait, I don't feel so stupid anymore. I just read the promotion started Feb 7th, so my tickets wouldn't have been free anyway.

Is that why you stayed at All Star Movies that year? We chose All Star Music for our promotion - I think they gave 50% discounts on the room didn't they?

Yeah, it was kinda last minute trip. I called Shades the day they decided to give the tickets and they were booked so we went with ASM. Yeah I think it was 50%. It was a frugal trip since we already had the 2003 trip planned. We ate off property almost every night since we were on the south side of the property.

That is pretty cool what Budweiser is doing. I know some guys that just returned from Iraq. Hopefully they can spend some good quality time with their families now.

Where is that? I looked into getting a military discount for July 2004 and didn't find any. We got an overflow rate from Shades of Green to Pop Century, but that was the only discount I got.

I just checked and i'm sorry it is gone. But i remember it cause I was trying to talk my father into going cause he was pn active duty(just remeber that part too) at the time. Tried to talk him into it cause Wilderness lodge was like 109.00 a night...It was a sick low price...
you did need a code for it though...It wasnt a thing that was like advertised on tv or anything like that
