Free Dining

I'm not sure how the free dining works b/c we have always been coming with military discounts and can't use it as well. With that said, we are coming down in December with family who are DVC members and are treating us with our room at their home resort. If free dining is offered in December can we take advantage of it? Probably not but just wondering.

Free dining is only offered on room packages. You could pay for dining with the DVC room, but IMO it's only worth paying for if your whole family eats exactly the way it's designed.

No DVC members have to pay full price for DDP we do not even get discounts....
But the good news is... You will have a kitchen or a mini kitchen enough to have a few meals in the room and save a little $$$ BTW... you have the best family ever!

Free dining is part of a package deal. You would have to buy the package to get the free dining.

Thanks everyone! I figured that's how it worked but thought it couldn't hurt to ask! We have been so fortunate to have the military discount over the last several years and we take full advantage of it visiting at least once a year! This year's trip will be special for so many reasons. My DH is in deployed right now but we will be celebrating his birthday in the most magical place on earth come December! We love to visit in early May, but our favorite time of year to visit is during the holidays. It's so magical and this year will get to see everything through the eyes of our twins who will be almost 4! Finally, our wonderful aunt and uncle who are Disney fanatics like us are treating 7 of us to a week at Old Key West! We stayed there on our last trip and just loved it. Planning our dining experiences is my favorite part of the planning process! We try something new each time we visit and are keeping our fingers crossed we will get to try BOG! DH asks for WDW updates everyday! I try to email him something new and exciting I've read about on the blogs or heard on WDW radio! I sure am missing listening to the weekly podcasts together!
