Free Dining Question

Hi,
We booked our Disney vacation back in August. We have a 8 day Magic Your Way with Deluxe Dining. Now I see there is free dining (we are going in September). Are we out of luck for this since we have already booked with the deluxe dining and have an 8 day package or is there a way to get a credit for some of our dining or free dining attached to this package. From what I read it feels like the bigger packages are somewhat penalized with not being included in this offer. Or am I misled and there is a way for us to experience free dining?
This is our first trip in 20 yrs. so things have changed so much. Thanks for your input.

You can rebook with free dining if its available at your resort for your travel dates. It maybe possible to switch to a different resort or alter your dates a bit to get free dining. Call and try to get it switched ASAP.

The free part of the "free dining" is only applicable to the value of the regular dining plan. If you want to keep the deluxe dining you would simply have to pay the difference between the regular dining and deluxe dining plans. I think it is around $32 per person per night, a saving to you of $39.99 per person per night, which is the cost of the regular dining plan. It would definitely be worth it to try to rebook!!!:sohappy:

You are going to have to call and see if it is available for your dates and your resort choice. Disney doesn't discount all their rooms, only a select few while they are available. So it is possible that the deal won't be available when you go, even though you already have a room reserved. As someone else said, you can upgrade to Deluxe Dining and just pay the difference from the standard price. Only the basic meal plan will be free.

Thanks for your input. We made our reservations through our local travel agent. Is it better to have them call or do you get farther by calling personally. If I call what phone number should I use? Thanks,Laine

You will have to have your TA call and rebook you. (Just FYI but at KK we would have done this already for you the second Free Dining became available ) Once you book with a TA the TA owns the reservation. Any changes will have to be made by them.
