Does anyone have any info if they will put out any free dining plan info. I know they have that one thing on disneyworld.com, but i was curious if they will do anything like what they used to do every other year. Any help would be great because were looking to book our vaction soon!

What kind of additional info are you looking for? The Free Dining packages have been available for booking for almost a month now...

Book through the WDW website, by calling WDW at 407-W-DISNEY or through your travel agent.

If you are asking if there will be further advertising, most likely no. This year's offer has been very successful and availability is getting extremely limited. Additional advertising most likely will not be needed. Remember this offer must be booked prior to June 22, 2008.

If you have any specific questions on this year's offer, please feel free to post here or send me a PM. I would be glad to help in any way I can.

Does anyone know of any future plans for a free dining period again in 2009 or any other time for that matter?

Also, does anybody know anything about booking your next Disney vacation while down there on a trip and recieving a discount? I'm very interested. As far as I know it's just on your resort accomodations, would a discount apply to a package too? Whats the deal with all this?

Thanks!

We won't know about a free dining plan for 2009 until next year. We only found out about this year's right before it was announced for booking.
I believe the bounceback offer is also good if you book a package, but you only receive a discount on the resort portion of it.

Gottcha. The free dining if its ever offered again comes with a somewhat "short" notice.

The whole "bounceback" thing...I'm so intrigued!

Free dining has been offered since 2005, in August and September. The travel date range has been shrinking each year.....

Its usually announced to the public in early April...

Nothing is guaranteed from year to year though.

Mysteries of Discount Offers Revealed

Does anyone know of any future plans for a free dining period again in 2009 or any other time for that matter?

Also, does anybody know anything about booking your next Disney vacation while down there on a trip and recieving a discount? I'm very interested. As far as I know it's just on your resort accomodations, would a discount apply to a package too? Whats the deal with all this?

To answer your first question...

There are no annual “programs” offering discounts at any of the Walt Disney World Resorts. Although previous Free Dine promotional offers may have been similar in terms (i.e., travel dates, minimum length of stay, time of year), each promotional offer was unique and not part of a program. Disney is unable to predict or promise any future promotional offers.

To answer your second question...

What you are describing is called a "Bounce Back" promotional offer. Again, Disney is unable to predict or promise any future promotional offers. If a promotional offer is available, it will be displayed on a flyer located on the table in your room. This type of offer must be booked while you are currently staying in a Disney owned and operated resort. Once you check-out, you will no longer be eligible for the offer.

For nearly all discount promotional offers, the advertisement will simply list one or possibly two lead-in rates, which is normally based on either the least expensive resorts or the resorts with the most availability. The lead-in rates also are often based on the most typical party size or length of stay. Your total will be based on your unique party size and ages, your resort and room choice, and any other components you choose.

If the lead-in rate is a per person rate, that rate is an overall average based on the length of stay, party mix, and ticket options described in the lead-in. Your overall average per person rate could be higher or lower again based on your unique party mix and options chosen.

In reality, most offers will include all 23 resorts, are valid for anywhere from 1 to 14 nights, and may include both Room-only Reservations and Magic Your Way Packages, Magic Your Way Plus Dine Packages, and Magic Your Way Deluxe Dine Packages. Even if these options are not listed on the advertising material, please be sure to ask when booking your stay.

Discount offers cannot be booked for dates prior to the start of the travel date advertised, but some offers can be booked for travel dates beyond the last travel date in the offer as long as you arrive during the offer period.

All room rates are based on date based pricing. If the discount offer simply discounts the room, your promotional rate will only apply to dates within the offer period. If the discount offer discounts other components (free dine, free ticket upgrade, etc.) the component discount will apply for the entire length of stay. Again either way your arrival date must begin within the advertised travel date period, and you must book within the minimum/maximum length of stay requirements.

On all discount promotional offers, there are only a limited number of rooms available for each night during the offer period. Once they sell out they are gone. Individual guest cancellations do not increase the number of discounted rooms available.

If I missed anything, please feel free to post or send me a PM. I am always glad to help in any way I can! :sohappy:

Wow. Thank you so much for all your help. Definitly something we'll have to look into...maybe it'll soften the blow of having to check-out!

JPVonDrake, you are amazing. I cannot believe the time you will take to answer a question for someone. You are to be commended. You are what WDW & DRC are all about. I hope, as a TA, I get you on the phone when I call, I know my res's will be booked correctly. You have the patience of a saint.

Yes, he does. :animwink: And unfortunately, not all DRC CM's are as knowledgeable or as helpful as he is. As a guest who books all of my family's trips myself (yes, I know KK is great but I am a control freak), I have spoken to many CM's that just didn't know their stuff. For example, when Disney rolled out the new passholder + dine packages in February, it took me 4 tries to find one who would book it for me for December. The first 3 CM's I talked to tried to tell me it could only be booked through May 21, which I knew not to be the case. (From JP's post on the subject)

This site is very lucky to have him around. :sohappy:
