FP+ with more days than tickets

Okay, we are scheduled to be at WDW for ten days, however since we will be taking part in activities outside of the parks we don't know exactly which days we will be able to go and thus have purchased five day tickets. With that said, now that we are coming up on the 60 day mark, are we able to essentially book fast passes for all ten days of our stay and only use the ones on days when we actually get to go? If that is the case, does that happen often? I would assume the good side is if we don't use the FP that day it's less people, but the bad side is we take away that FP availability from someone else correct? Is there a good way to go about it? We still may end up adding on tickets if we use our five original but was wondering about it.

No. When you get to the 60-day mark (assuming you're staying at a Disney resort), you will only be able to book Fastpass+ for up to a total of 5 days over the course of your stay.

So, unfortunately, you need to know which 5 days you'll visit the parks now....one of the big downsides to FP+. No more impulse.
