I received my MagicBand yesterday. It came to my house less then 24 hours after I ordered it. I had signed onto My Disney Experience and happened to click on the MagicBand/Card option and there was a box there to order my MagicBand. After I got it yesterday I received an email telling me that I had been invited to the FP+/MyMagic+ Testing and to follow the instructions to order my band. A little backwards but ok.
What I realized is that THIS is going to be the way that Disney will roll out MagicBands/FP+ to AP holders. Just like the hotels they will begin adding AP holders little by little, allowing the system to absorb them in. My son who just bought his AP this month and is connected to my My Disney Experience has not been invited to get his band yet and I can't add him to my FP+ choices.
Yesterday I also received an email about FP+ which once again said they are testing it with select AP holders. I think this is how you will see them fold in AP holders. Invite them in for "testing" a little at a time.
