Hi there. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a WDW CM going to DL, linking the MG and getting FP's. I've searched everywhere for help! lol I tried linking our Maingate's to the Disneyland app so that we can get FastPasses for an upcoming trip, but it's not letting me. Are we able to do this? If so, is it the normal 7 day window as Walt Disney World to get FastPasses? We'll be using Comp. tiks. as well one day (blockout), is it the same process for DL as WDW? Thanks for any help!

At Disneyland you can get paper Fast Passes the old fashioned way, or you can pay for MaxPass at $10 per day, which allows you to book them via an app.

Either way, you book them the day of.

Thanks for the info. Now just wondering if we can link our maingate to the app. :)

You can’t link the main gate, but once you sign into the park and receive a paper ticket at the turnstile, that can be scanned into the app and linked. Then you can get MaxPass and book digital FPs in the parks for the day.

The system is not really anything like WDW’s.

Disneyland is very different from WDW. Similarly, WDW is an aberration and operates unlike any other Disney property around the world.

Disneyland is rather similar to Tokyo Disneyland, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris (no experience with Shanghai). You just go and have fun, you don't have to plan your life out 60 days in advance. Just go to Disneyland, enter the park and decide what you want to do. Use Maxpass and Fastpass if you want to. Marvel at the only park Walt Disney built and walked in and operated for 11 years. WDW was built by corporate committee five years after Walt died, and it turned out nothing like Walt had planned. Disneyland is Walt's park, and it operates calmly and sanely. Just go and enjoy it, no real pre-planning required. Enjoy life!

Wow even though I been to all the parks I sometimes forget how different some of them are in operation. Its crazy WDW is the only park where you can get FP literally weeks before you show up. No other Disney park worldwide does this. As its been said you only get them the day you enter the park. I guess I can understand why its done that way at WDW being a true vacation resort (and having so many parks) but I really like how its done at all the others. I was in Hong Kong Disneyland recently and I never planned longer than the day before I arrived. I like some spontaneity in my trips.

Anyway hope you enjoy it and its always fun to compare and contrast resorts! Try to give a trip report if you can.
