Forever tickets

We have a couple 5 day forever hopper passes that still have 1 day left each on them. We're not sure if we ever want to go back. ( as most of the rides now are fast or motion ,plus it seems it's just getting to difficult) we are wondering what these passes are worth if we decide to sell them. Anyone know ?

One Little Spark...
Are they transferrable? I know Disney has been a stickler about their tickets being assigned to the original first user for a very long time now. It's what the finger scanning was all about.

There actually is a way to validate them. There is a phone number you can use to enter the ticket number and it will tell you how many days left... or there used to be.

Probably just their modern ticket value minus some convenience costs.

The problem with old tickets like these is you can't combine them - only transfer the residual to a modern equivalent. So if you have one day left on a parkhopper ticket, they will give you a 1 day park hopper ticket. If you have multiple, they will not combine them. This makes things slightly annoying, but ironically makes have a higher base value. But lets say you want to use this as adding to an existing ticket for the rest of your trip.. you can't. You end up using a single day ticket value on what would otherwise be a cheaper day ticket.

As long as you can convince your buyer they are legit - you should be able to sell them at some value near a single day ticket. You didn't mention the vintage or desirability of the ticket media itself.. so they probably are generic and only worth their admission value.

I used tickets like these all the time for when I'm traveling solo in the area and just want to drop by for a day... makes it much easier to do when you can ignore the single day ticket prices :)

Yes, when you can drop by, that's how we used them... now with reservations months out... I doubt we will, ever use them. I'll leave them in my will to my kids.. ha

I have older tickets I'm still holding onto because they are cool from when the tickets still looked unique

I don't mean to be funny, but considering these tickets predate finger scans, it doesn't seem like you were in a hurry to ever use them, and I can't see how park reservations is your final bugaboo to using them.

I don't have an answer for you sorry. A call to them should clarify.
But yes. When I started going in '72, tix were not assigned to a person and were good forever, even after those Tix Books became 'cards.' It was well before there was an internet, personal tech and finger scanners. The office computer in a major insurance company where I worked that summer was in THE COMPUTER ROOM and it took up an entire wall. Yes, younguns', that's the way it was. Some of us are a living Carousel of Progress...LoL!

Thank you. I really like when old folks tell us about history from their first hand perspective and experience!

Sure beats so many disrespectful young'uns who think snark is a good form of communication.
Recalling defunct Disney tickets gives younger folks a tangible link to the past back when Disney tickets were indeed good forever. And they were made from a substance that is rarely used any longer for admission media; paper. Your descriptive memories of the old tickets helps to educate young Disney fans as well. Seniors have a lot of valuable knowledge and I thank you for sharing it with us!
