I'm sure its been talked about alot in the forum, but being new I am not sure whats going on with it. Whats the deal with the "Forbidden Mountain" attraction that may or may not be going into Animal Kingdom? Is it definate? And if so when is it going in? Thanks

I just have a quick question, I know there's another thread for this but Im afraid no one will answer it there, I've heard that it will be a mine train like coaster, but are we talking more extreme than Big Thunder Mountain, because that ride is pretty darn tame. Bigger drops...any info would be great. Lee you seem like the authority on Forbidden Mountain on these boards, what do you think? Personally, I would love them to blow IOA's Dueling Dragons queue out of the water with a ride and queue so immersive and amazing everyone would stop talking about that ride and it's queue.

Its all possible.. That it will happen or not i dont know. I would also like to see a more extreme BTM ( not that its not extreme enough ). We'll just have to wait and see :)

I just hope its a full blown coaster, something that will stop nay-sayings from saying that Disney doesn't know how to build a decent roller coaster

O.K., I'll be a tease.

200 ft. tall.

Mine Train twisting, turning, and dropping in and around the peaks.

Big Thunder on steroids.

I haven't seen inside the queue.

Oh, yeah...Yetis!

Please don't think I'm trying to be Mr. Pessimist, but don't hold your breath for Forbidden Mountain.......just yet. There seem to be a number of projects that are being talked about at the various sites, including this one. All sound like major $$$. Disney really seems to be trying to decide on a direction to invest it's money, with a large part of it going to Epcot (if any of the reports (see "rumors" in the dictionary) come true). I can't help but wonder if Forbidden Mountain is going to get the red light for now. Look at the cuts and freezes for personnel going on now. This says to me that Disney is concerned about projections, probably due to global situations (you know the ones) and how it will impact travel.

I hope we hear something official soon, hopefully by summer. But, until dozer's move in, and the fences go up, everything is sitting very close to the chopping block. Whether we like yetis or not.

Yep, there are some cutbacks at WDW, what with the hiring freeze and shortened hours.

However, I have heard nothing that would lead me to believe that Forbidden Mtn. is anything but a "go". If fact, it seems to be picking up steam.

Do I have insides? More like very friendly, well connected outsides. (Boy, does that sound weird!)

Budget is hovering around $120 mil. from what I am told.
Looks like bigger drops, and higher speed than Big Thunder.
And how frightening can a Yeti be, anyway? Harold at DL is not too unfriendly.
