I've been dealing with this on and off since November 2021.
I suddenly started having pain in my upper middle/right belly that at first I almost thought was muscle strain from raking or something.
But then I realized that it was worse after I ate and after a week it got to the point where I felt full after 2 bites but then hungry in a short time since I didn't eat much at a time.
I felt nauseous and lightheaded but never threw up or fainted. And had to run to the bathroom shortly after eating. Oh and I got the chills but never a fever.
After another few days I went to the doctor and she sent me for an ultrasound.
By the time I went back for a follow up I was feeling better but not myself. She said nothing was wrong and its good I'm feeling better.
Problem is I never got to 100%. I'd always have my symptoms but they were very mild other than fatigue.
Fast forward to July 2022. I started having the symptoms worse again. Went to the doctor and having been upset due to my mom's cancer diagnosis she told me I need to stop worrying and there's nothing wrong.
The symptoms were on and off the rest of July and all of August (keep in mind I had gotten these symptoms before we knew anything serious was wrong with my mom and the symptoms came and went and were not too severe even when my mom almost died and was in the hospital for most of the month of August and due to visitor restrictions I wasn't even allowed to see my mom so to me it seems pretty clear that it wasn't all in my head like the doctor would have liked me to believe)
In September though they came bad really bad and the end of September I went back and she agreed to do another ultrasound but no follow up appt.
I called a few days later to find out the results and the nurse told me I had a gallbladder polyp and she would have the doctor call me back.
The doctor called back and said the ultrasound was normal and I need to stop worrying. Basically its all in my head so stop.
I asked about the polyp. She brushed it off and was like you had that last time and it didn't grow that much.
She never told me that I had that the first time!
So then I went to a surgeon and he was not convinced that my gallbladder was the problem so I had a scope which showed nothing.
Then I had a HIDA scan which apparently was not terrible but because I did complain of pain when they gave me the CCK or whatever its called the surgeon said he feels more comfortable removing my gallbladder.
I chose to have it done in April. I'm about 4 weeks out.
But man its been pretty rough at times.
I still haven't figured out exactly what foods set it off because sometimes I'll eat something and be fine and the next time I eat it I'm terribly sick.
For example this one is very odd. I can eat a banana and be fine or I can eat a banana and want to go to the hospital.
I have found that dark soda, dipping sauces (like BBQ sauce and Chick Fil A sauce), and ANY amount of alcohol are off limits now.
So that's my long story lol.
I'm just hoping that someone else's symptoms line up with mine and also how your recovery went.
I'm pretty active so I'm hoping I'll bounce back pretty quickly.
