Hello, everyone! Mimitchi33 (my identical twin sister) and I have decided to write our first trip report. First, we'll introduce ourselves:
ColumbiaBinks/Ashley (short haired girl in the photo)
Hello! I'm Ashley, and I cannot wait for my first Disney World trip in five years! I'm really excited for the Star Wars experiences at Disney, as it is my top favorite Disney (I know it's technically not Disney) franchise that I like as of now! I've always been curious about Star Wars, from the time I saw it as a Happy Meal promotion as a kid to when The Phantom Menace re-release came out to theaters (I didn't see it, maybe because I thought it was too boyish, but I do remember how heavily promoted it was on cereal boxes) and for some reason, I thought Episode 1 was the very first Star Wars movie, A New Hope! (The Phantom Menace will be relevant to my introduction later, and you'll see why) However, I was first interested in the recent Star Wars movie when an article about Force Friday showed a toy of BB-8, who instantly became my favorite character. I went to see The Force Awakens on the Friday it came out, and...surprisingly, I liked it!
Now, I am really interested in Star Wars, and my current favorite Star Wars character, if you haven't guessed from my username and my avatar, is (don't judge me or make fun of me for liking him) Jar Jar Binks, although I haven't seen the prequels. I like him because from what I've read and seen about him, he seems pretty similar to me because he's hyperactive and silly, but I am not annoying to some people, unlike what most people think of him). Other Disney characters that I like include Princess Anna, Ariel, Rey, BB-8, Sofia the First, and ShellieMay the Disney Bear (I will be bringing her on the trip and dressing her in my Build a Bear Disney costumes that I have). I can’t wait to go on this trip! I am especially excited for Star Wars Launch Bay, using the MagicBands, making my own lightsaber (I want a purple one), and New Fantasyland!
Mimitchi33/Jillian (girl with long hair with tiara and Bing Bong plush toy)
Nice to meet you! I am Jillian. You may remember me from the New Year’s Eve threads where I made memes to make fun of problems at the parks on those days, which was a yearly tradition (except for last year, when something else came up). I am the the youngest by a few minutes.
My favorite Disney franchise is Inside Out. Ever since I first saw the images of the characters when they were announced a few years back at D23, I have been in love with this film. I got to see it a day before it came out thanks to Regal Cinemas having a Thursday night preview. I have seen it five times in theaters, and have loved it each time. It is the best movie I have ever seen in my lifetime and taught me a lot of things about my emotions. It even helped me solve problems I have had in the past. At first, I loved Joy, but after my second viewing, I fell in love with Bing Bong, Riley’s imaginary friend. He’s the cutest little character I’ve seen, and I have lots of merchandise of him! In fact, I bring my plush doll of him with me whenever I go on trips, as seen in the photo above. I have even decorated a bag I got for Christmas with Bing Bong pins and a keychain of him, and have received many compliments about it, and have a jacket that looks like his that I designed myself. I think my obsession with Bing Bong has to be the most I’ve obsessed over a cartoon character, with my childhood Figment obsession coming very close.
Back on the topic of the Disney Parks I am very excited to go to Disney and see the new rides that I haven’t been on, such as The Seven Dwarves Mine Train, eat at Be Our Guest, use the new MagicBand technology, and most of all, meeting Joy and Sadness in EPCOT. It’s not Bing Bong, but Joy is my second favorite, and it’ll be exciting to meet one of my idols.
About the Trip
As the title suggests, this is our first visit to Disney in five years! We last visited in March 2011 when our cousins had a wedding in Florida, and after the wedding, we drove to Disney and stayed there for a few days. Since then, we’ve only been to Disneyland more often since our brother was planning to move to the Southern California area after finishing college since he is a film major, and we got to do some things in Southern California like visiting Disneyland and several studio tours. (We took a road trip to move him into his apartment in Valley Village, which is near Universal Studios Hollywood, in October, and we were able to go to Disneyland for a day. That’s where the picture of us at the Disneyland entrance comes from.) We thought we would never go back to Florida for a very long time…until a few weeks ago.
You see, our father is a lawyer, and he has to speak at a conference at the Hilton Bonnet Creek hotel, which is near Walt Disney World. We asked him if we can go, and we were able to go! Unfortunately, during some parts of the trip, my dad will not be joining us at any of the parks (except for dinner at Tokyo Dining in EPCOT). For the first three nights, we are staying at Hilton Bonnet Creek. We were originally going to stay at Hilton Bonnet Creek the whole time, but our uncle was able to give us two nights at Old Key West with his Disney Vacation Club points. We arrive on April 5th at night, and we’re leaving on April 10th, so we’ll have 4 days to spend in the parks. The main parks we picked for FastPass Plus on each day correspond to our dining reservations for that day (except for Animal Kingdom, as we’re actually dining at 1900 Park Fare that day). On the first day, we are eating at the 50’s Primetime Café, on the second day, we are eating at Be Our Guest (which was originally supposed to be the Crystal Palace, but we found a dining reservation for Be Our Guest), on the third day, we are eating at Tokyo Dining, and on the fourth day, we are eating at 1900 Park Fare.
We hope you’ll look forward to our trip report!
