Ok, this might sound strange, but I am in the process of making a CD of all of the songs that Food Rocks "borrowed". You know what I mean, like the original Sledgehammer, or Breaking up is Hard to do. I have all of them excpet the song that Fud Wrapper sings. I can't remember what that song is called. Also, I know Fud Wrapper was modled after Ton Loc, but does he sing the original song?

I have another question relating to that. Excess, the "We want junk" people, are they modeled after a real band? I figured they would be, but I can't figure out who. On top of that, is the song they sing, based on a real song. If so, what is that?

Thanks for your help!

Though I'd kill myself for responding to your questions due to the nature of them, I'll respond anyway and hope I am alive tomorrow.

Fud Rapper sings "Always read the wrapper"...But that's the only answer I can give you.

If I remember correctly from by clubin' days, the song is by Ton Loc and is called Funky Col Madina (I am quite certain that the spelling is off).

The rapper is called TONE LOC and the song is called: FUNKY COLD MEDINA.
While the band EXCESS isn't exactly modeled after, but makes fun of the 80's power rock band INXS (In Excess). However, I can recall the song they ripped off, but I think it's something invented to sound as heavy metal.
Also the Solo of Rock N Roll which is inspired by Cher.

I knew he was inspired by Tone Loc, and know that I hear Funky Cold Medina, that sounds familiar. I didn't however know about INXS. Thanks for the help you guys. Anyone know about the song Excess sings?

You are welcome. I searched the net to see if there was any INXS song that resembled WE WANT JUNK, there aren't , so maybe I was correct, they invented a heavy tune to make the bad guys look even meaner. Anyway, keep looking in the band's repertoire to see if you can find a song that is similar to EXCESS'.
