Hi all, went to the Food and Wine Festival last year and going back this year as well, it is a FANTASTIC time to visit ! Epcot does a wonderful job with all these extra countries represented with "smackerels of something to eat and drink ! " Anybody else love this time ? My personal favorite foods are at the USA pavillion the clam chowder soup and New Zealand the lamb chops ! Anybody else going this year ? Will be there Oct 25 til Nov 3rd .:slurp:

Awweee... sorry, I had not seen this thread before!

I have been there.... twice. I actually worked there once, during 1998. I was stationed at the cooking classes at the Oddyssey, and I had a lot of fun (and food) :D

I also worked sometimes the wine seminars, but I didn´t have that much fun there... that was hard work, and I hated openning bottles with the corkscrew! I stink for that! And it was frustrating to be pouring glasses of wine and not being able to try it myself! :( :animwink:

There is a very nice and sweet canadian wine in a slim and tall blue bottle that I highly recommend. I don´t know the name of it, but any cm in Canada will tell you about it! it was really good! :slurp:

Bring a lot of cash to try all the stuff in the booths! Try getting into one of the cooking classes...there are free samples after 45 mins of air condition! hehe :animwink:

I was there last year and had a great time sampling the food. It almost takes a couple of trips because I get full half way around the world showcase.
I skipped the wine seminar, but we went to the Sam Adams beer seminar. I didn't learn alot, but we got free beer samples, and got some good stories about real oktoberfests in Germany!
My wife and I are heading back in 23 days - and she is pregnant. Needless to say she is looking forward to eating her way around the world!

I'm a little over a week away from experiencing F&WF for the first time...

So if you are waling around Epcot (or any of the other WDW parks) and see some guy with a Nightmare Before Christmas jacket on... and a hair color that does not quite look right (think either blue or purple... haven't decided which yet) be sure to stop me and say hi. :)

I worked the event in Fall 2000: I did setup/takedown of all the kitchen appliances, and took care of credit card payments. I had a blast!

I'd always start in Mexico and end up in Italy. I could never get past that country cause I'd stuff myself with everything inbetween! As for the food...I loved it all! :slurp: Next time I'll have to start in Canada!

Another great thing about F&W are the demos. You get to watch a famous chef AND then taste thier creation. YUM! I got to see Rick Bayless (from Chicago & famous for Mexican food) and Bobby Flay (from Food Network).

* While waiting in line to attend a demo the cast member who greeted us outside said something along the lines of "Mmmm, you guys are in for a treat! Rick Bayless is here to cook you up some mole with chicken" We all stared at him in confusion...mole (as in the animal) with chicken? What kind of meal is that?!?!?! After a bit of laughter we figured out what he meant. It was supposed to be mole (pronounced mo-Lay) with chicken. I was funny! :p

Bon Apetit!

LOL! Mole Poblano (original from Puebla State, Mexico) is my favorite food! My ex-bf didn´t like how it looked, but he liked eating it with "enchiladas". It´s the dark sauce in brick-brown color that covers them. It´s made with a paste of tomato and spices and it´s prepared with chocolate too. It´s supposed to be a little bit hot. I love it! :slurp:

I worked on those presentations and got to see some famous old lady cooking... don´t ask me the name, I can´t remember it but people went nuts about her! :animwink:
