Food and Wine festival Beer portion sizes

I keep reading about the food portion sizes vs prices leaving a lot to be desired, but I can't seem to find any info on drink sizes at the festival (and also at the permanent restaurants and kiosks at epcot). My boyfriend is a big time craft beer junkie, so I'm wondering what the portions are like if he wants to order a beer at a kiosk or order a sampler (I believe they're called flights?).

They're mainly just 8oz cups of beer. They used to be 10-12oz but I think starting 2 or 3 years ago they decided to cut back on the portions. Maybe it was cost or maybe it was to try to keep people from getting crazy drunk and out of control. If the smaller portions aren't cutting it for him, there are still certain regular spots around WS that he'll be able to get a full 16oz beer, such as Mexico, Germany, Canada, UK, ect.

The flights are normally four 8 oz cups which are still good for sampling. Each kiosk also has larger single serve glasses as well. Each kiosk is a little different with the larger sizes and can be either 12oz or 16oz I think. We will normally try a flight and then buy a larger size of the one we like best afterward. Your boyfriend will not be disappointed in the selections available.

Thanks for the answers!!! I have another dumb question (I'm in trip planning mode and my gears are spinning, I'm so excited!) what about seating? The photos I'm seeing online pretty much show Odyssey as having essentially no seating and I'm getting the feeling most of the food stands are exactly that, with the food meant to be eaten on the go. Is the only real option park benches or walk around carrying it?

Actually quite the opposite. The Odyssey has a pretty decent seating area and it's nice to head there to get out of the sun and under the AC. But yea, when it comes to the food stands, you basically just eat/drink on the go or find a bench or standing table that you can eat on. Depending on the time of day/day of the week, those can be hard to come by.

My routine is to use the trash cans as a table top. This may sound kinda gross, but they're very clean on the outside, and it beats fighting for one of the few tables near each booth. No, most booths don't have seating areas, but that's all part of the fun.

What happens inside the Odyssey during F&W? Is it just a place to sit and relax or is there food or anything else going on in there?

The Odyssey does have a pretty decent seating area as @Epcotfan21 noted, however it has the charm of your grand parent's old basement that's been left abandoned for years then filled with stuff from a tag sale by the next owner. But I found the beer line was efficient and worked well to fill me up - so mission accomplished.

It's where they house the craft beer kiosk. If you google it, you find images of the counter and some sparse tables for standing at. This is why I was confused about seating in there, it felt like such a massive building it would have to have seating, but I can't find evidence online

Only a few locations offer the sampling flights, and they may not include all the beers available at that location. I think only the Brewers Collection and the Craft Beer location offer flights (maybe hops and barley, I can't recall). But the Craft Beer location used to have 16-20 beers, but only offered 8 on flights. But this year they only had 6 listed on the menus @wdwmagic posted the other day. So it may still be up in the air.

However, depending on how much of a beer junkie he is the selection may not wow him. Most of what is offered at the kiosks is fairly easy to find year round, with really maybe the FL brewers that will stick out as new choices.
