Flying into SFB - Getting to CSR

Hi all, long time lurker... first time poster!

I’ve booked our 2 week stay to CSR in September ‘19 and am now starting to think about a bit of forward planning.

When we last came to stay we used busses, monorail and Uber lots and found that we had no real use for our hire car so have decided not to bother with one this time. Since our last stay Disney have added parking charges at resorts which has just strengthened our decision.

The problem I have is getting from SFB to CSR and CSR to SFB on the return leg. Our package includes a bus transfer which is one of those ‘wait forever to fill up then stop at 5 other hotels before we get to yours’ kinda things. I really don’t want to be waiting around for that! Also, at the other end of our holiday (vacation ;)) the said coach comes soooo early and cuts off the last few hours of magic.

So in short... I’m asking for recommendations of how to get to and from the airport in an efficient way (avoiding that long wait for the bus!) that is reputable and I can kind of pre-book so I’m not worrying about being stranded at either end.

I’d really appreciate your help and input!

All the best guys!
David

You have a few choices. You could rent a car at the airport for 1 day, dropping it off at one of the WDW sites after checking into your resort. Repeat in reverse for departure. Or hire a town car - a small discount may be available for a round trip reservation. Or use a Uber or Lyft (taxi will be more).

I’d not thought of hiring a car for the day. I’ll need to look a bit more into that as a possible option as I could tie dropping off with a dining reservation close by. I’ve been looking at Uber and Lyft too but that was looking to be a little expensive as I can book a private transfer with a company based here in the U.K. for the same sort of price. I’d like to support the local economy where possible. Excuse my ignorance but what is a ‘town car’? Is that like an executive taxi?

Thank you for the advice. I really appreciate it! :)

It's a hire car with a driver. A step above a taxi, but a step below limousine. You tell them the flight, they are waiting there for you either at the exit from customs or baggage claim.

Have you already purchased your airline tickets? If you can fly into Orlando International Airport you can get the Disney Magical Express bus which is included in your reservation for free to your resort and back to airport. We love it.
