Flying Fish vs Bluezoo

First, welcome aboard! Don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have.

When it comes to FF or bluezoo, IMO, you can really flip a coin. While I give a slight edge to bluezoo's menu, the Carmelized Banana Napoleon at FF is, again IMO, hands down the best dessert on property. You really can't go wrong with either restaurant.

If you are looking for something a little extra nice and you and your wife are on the foodie side, might I suggest the Chef's Wine Tasting Dinner at Flying Fish. My fiancee and I did this back in October '11 and it was a great meal. It's a 5 course meal with wine pairings, you sit at the kitchen counter and the chef comes out and talks to you about all the dishes he has created for you. Back then it ran me about $157 including tax and tip per person, so while not exactly cheap it was still a really nice experience.

I take it you know FF is a signature 2 credit restaurant & Blue Zoo is a non Disney restaurant. It would be worth checking restaurant reviews on these two, maybe like Debs All Ears.I gave you your first like by the way, welcome aboard,a fairy gets her wings tonight. So I was told.;)

I think they're about equally matched in food quality, but Bluezoo has far better ambiance. It's really one of the best date night spots on property.

Thanks for the responses! We aren't on the dining plan- so the number of table service credits doesn't matter. Part of the reason we don't use the dining plan is because we love the signature restaurants so much.

Who knows, maybe we will do both bluezoo and flying fish if we are feeling really adventurous. Sounds like they are pretty equal in regard to quality of food and service.

Our experience - been to Bluezoo (time frame about 4 years ago) - not bad, but we were not that impressed. Flying Fish looks interesting - but we tend to focus on SHELLFISH, and prefer Fulton's for this.

As you are not on the DP... ever consider Shula's or Il Mulino (Dolphin & Swan)? These are VERY GOOD Sigs... one is the best steak place on property, the other is the best Italian :). Both take TIW - though both avoid the DP.

I know it's silly, but I have a hard time warming up to Shula's and Il Mulino because I feel like I'll get a more unique and memorable experience in an EPCOT restaurant.. although I could be totally wrong about that. There are great restaurants in most of the non-disney resorts located on property and off, but I guess I like the idea of cultivating a purely Disney experience as much as possible while on property.

I had a Bluezoo bad night, but I think I will try it again. We did a Swan/Dolphin app and drink crawl. We kicked it off at Bluezoo, then hit Mulino, and then Kimonos. I had a nice martini at Bluezoo and the shrimp and grits. It was ok. My problem was that our crawl was supposed to be longer but Bluezoo took two hours. For an app? Something had to happen in the back. I asked nicely three times and they kept saying it was coming out. But we were in vacation mode. So we just had another drink and hung out. But it totally messed up our plans to do like a half hour in a bunch of places. But Mulino's cold antipasto and Kimonos tuna rolls and watching some interesting karaoke performer totally made up for it.

Also, at Kimonos, THANK GOD I double-checked. They gave us the paper where you mark off what you want. I read it incorrectly and I almost ordered rolls for like 20 people. LOL! That was a close one. Not the drinks. I was just tired and had never been there before and I totally misread the order sheet.
