British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Cathay Pacific are all offering low-cost flight deals to Hong Kong in time for the opening of Disney's latest magical kingdom. The animation giant launches its first Chinese attraction on September 12, when the gates open at Hong Kong Disneyland. It promises to offer all the glitz and glamour you'd expect from Disney, enabling all the family to meet their favourite stars, including Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, check out the latest thrilling rides and get their hands on all the Disney-related products you could ever wish to own. As with all Disneyland's, it is modelled on Walt Disney's original fantasy world in California, offering a taste of 50's America in the heart of one of Asia's most modern and dynamic cities. The park is split into three different and distinctive lands – Adventureland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, each offering a different experience and selection of rides and entertainments. The massive 310-acre resort also offers two themed hotels, offering children the chance to stay in a real-life cartoon hotel and adults the chance to re-live their childhood dreams. Once you've had your fill of Disney-themed fun, Hong Kong is an exhilarating city to explore, a fascinating fusion of East and West that is unmistakably Asian. From the gleaming skyscrapers and glitzy shopping malls of Central and Hong Kong Island to the teeming backstreets of Mongkok, Hong Kong offers ample opportunities for shopping and sightseeing - or for just sitting back and taking it all in. Hong Kong residents are also rightly proud of their cuisine, with the city's restaurants serving up some of the world's finest dim sum and seafood. Hong Kong Disneyland is located on beautiful Lantau Island, just a ten-minute drive from the airport, with the park offering complimentary bus transfer from the airport to the park. British Airways is currently offering direct flights from London Heathrow to Hong Kong from £399 return, including taxes for flights from the beginning of November until the end of March 2006. Virgin is also currently offering cheap flights to Hong Kong for customers who book in September, with flights between now and December 1 starting from £411 return. Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific flies to the city from Heathrow from £390 return until the end of the year. Entrance to the park costs HK $295 (£20.60) for adults and HK$210 (£14.68). Alternatively, visitors can purchase combined park and MRT metro tickets from MRT Hong Kong station in the heart of the city for HK $345 (£24.12) for adults and HK $260 (£18.18) for children.
