Flower for 18th b-day

My niece is turning 18 soon, so I would like to send her some flowers, and maybe a balloon or two. And I'm probably over-thinking it, but is it weird for her aunt to send her roses? Are roses more the domain of the boyfriend? She has been dating the same guy for over 2 years, so I'm hopeful he will send her flowers, or do something really nice for her. Should I just send her a nice flower assortment, just in case the boyfriend sends roses?

As I said, I know I'm probably over-thinking this.

Yes way over thinking. At 18 a gift certificate to her favorite store would be greatly appreciated! A girl's gotta shop! LOL

Like @figmentfan423 said. I have a 26 yr old and I always get gcards for bdays so she can get what she really wants!! Let the boyfriend get the flowers. That's what he's there for

Actually, she is not much of a shopper. But maybe I will get her a gift card, and then send her some balloons. I kind of thought the roses would be more the boyfriend's domain, thanks for confirming that.
