Florida Resident Dilemma

So I'm heading down to Disney with the mom and an Aunt. The Aunt lives in FL but all my tickets are already bundled into the package with the meal plan etc. I was planning to make my final payment in two weeks and be done with it. It's always a good feeling when your Disney trip is paid for.

She has bad arthritis and will be in an ECV. So her park attendance will be based on how she is feeling in the morning. Should I call Disney and have them remove the theme park admittance from my reservation for her? That way she can just pay the FL resident rate on whichever day she plans to join us at the parks. I think a 3 day hopper is about $150. Any info/input will be greatly appreciated..thanks guys.

She's also afraid of heights...so much for tower of terror. :D So afraid that she's nervous about riding the monorail...

When you book a vacation package, everyone staying in the room must be on the same package (same park tickets, dining plan, etc.), so you wouldn't be able to take her off of the package if she plans to still stay in the room with you.

One option would be to figure out what the minimum number of days you think your Mom might go in the parks (or just the minimum number required for the package, which is typically 1 or 2 days), and change your package reservation so that everyone has that number of tickets. If you're still outside the 45-day mark (which it sounds like you are), there won't be a charge for this change.

Then after you check in, you can add the necessary days onto your tickets to bring them up to whatever you originally needed.
And then if your Mom decides to go into the parks for more days than the couple you booked, it's easy to add extra day(s) onto her ticket.

In each instance, they just charge you the price difference between the ticket you have and the ticket you want.

My mom is a fl resident but she was on my package. So I had to have her the same tix and stuff but the after we checked in and went to the park we stopped by guest relations and converted her 5 day base ticket to a fl resident weekday ticket and the gave me back the difference. All that was different was that her room key was not her park ticket anymore.
