Not sure if this should go here or the trip planning section so please feel free to move if necessary.

I just looked at WDW's website (which has become a bear to navigate, especially for Florida resident discounts), and it appears that you can only buy up to a 4-day ticket at the Florida resident rate...is that true or do they just not advertise longer stay tickets?

Also, planning a trip for the end of Sept. or early Oct., any ideas when room only Florida resident rates will be posted? I have heard some time in August but thought I would ask since I already started a new thread.

Thanks!

It has been about a year since I last stayed at a Disney Resort, so this could be outdated. The Florida Resident Room Rates are published at the 3 month mark prior. So call three months ahead to get the reservation at a FL Res rate. They have limited rooms available for FL Res Dscnt, so you have to call exactly at the three month mark, assuming they have any rooms available. They aren't likely to hold rooms for FL Res if they can book them otherwise, so not all resorts will have rooms available at the discount rate.

I'm sorry, I don't have any info on the tickets. However, depending on how many days and if you will be coming back within the next year, maybe consider the AP. They now offer interest free financing to Florida Residents, they basically charge a CC monthly. It's easy to setup. It also affords you discounts on merchandise, some meals, and sometimes rooms at a resort.

I, too was looking for a FL resident 5 day pass, but found out through research that I would have to buy a 4 day plus a 1 day. 5 day passes are not offered apparently. I did the math, and it only turned out to be about $35 more to get a seasonal AP, so that's what we're doing!! Maybe that would work for you too?

Try this on for size: Before the price increase I saw that a 4-day ticket with park hopper was $234 (now approx $244). By comparison, a Weekday Select Pass (access to all parks, M-F, except blocked out dates FOR ONE YEAR) was $211 (now approx $221). What do you think I purchased? That's right, a Weekday Select Pass.

I plan to be at WDW 9/29-10/5 and will use the parks all week M-F. Not only do I get five days, I still can use the pass for a year without paying more. I also opted for MNNSHP on 9/29 which is a separately purchased ticket for $61.77 (passholder discount imcluding taxes) but amounts to a 6th day.

I recommend looking at the Weekday Select Pass as a means to get you your fifth day.

As far as room only, I booked a AAA rate. But rates still go up even with discount beginning 9/26 or so as that is the start of the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. Then it's a matter of the type of resort you want. I opted more moderate, more specifically, POFQ, primarily because of more central access to parks and boat to DD.
