At MVMCP now and this float needed a tow. I wonder if weather had anything to do with it.

This is the first time I've ever seen a float breakdown. What's weird is that about 10 minutes before the parade started, I saw the tow driving up Main Street. I wonder if it broke down earlier in the route and they were just getting prepared.

Yes
Was legit thinking this was going to be a float from MSEP. Not shocked to see its the castle float, though. That thing is older than I am!!
That's what I was thinking when I read the thread title. Thankfully it wasn't or else the anti-MSEP crows would've been out in full force.

I'm surprised they haven't themed the tow unit and called it a NEW addition to the parade...

I was so surprised to see this happen. As it was coming around the hub, it was going quite fast, figured it just needed to catch up and then it completely stopped lol.

Maybe they should just attach some reindeer to it and pull it around the park...

this happened right in front of us during the Halloween parade where the hub meats Main St.
the float with clarabelle the cow broke down. staff handled it well, & the crowd wasn't bothered at all. gave a good cheer when it was towed away.

It's pretty normal for them to stage that tug on or near the bridge from the hub to Liberty Square just in case they have a problem with a float. There are any number of things that might have happened with the drive system, so they just tow the float the rest of the route and other than the gap that happens when it occurs, the rest of the parade goes on as normal typically.

When I was doing Spectromagic the floats could never get over the Liberty Square bridge in the rain. I do think the tows could be themed though.
