I understand that my up coming trip in September is during the end of hurricane season. The only thing that really concerns me is that my flight into MCO will be delayed or cancelled.

I can deal with the rain in the parks during the vacation, and I really don’t care I my flight out is delayed or even cancelled (More time to spend in Florida).

My question is how often are flight cancelled and or delayed in Florida during hurricane season? Also since I am here asking questions, are the parks ever closed due to hurricanes and or bad weather? I know WDW is really far inland, but does it ever happen? If so what does Disney do for there guest?

Thanks in advance.

I know the parks dont close very often due to weather, as you said they are pretty far inland so it would be a very big storm to cause them to close and the parks were built to handle hurricanes. I know a couple years ago they had to close the parks for 3 days I believe, during 3 different storms, until then I believe they had only closed one day since opening before that and I think it was Andrew that caused that. The Animal kingdom is the park that is most likely to close because of the animals. Watch the hurricane watch websites and check the Disney site also, they track the storms and if there is a big one coming they will post a pop up about any park closings. I know they have a system in place to deal with hurricanes but I cant tell you any details but I think if I had to trust anyone with my safety in a hurricane it would be Disney. I know if your in the campgrounds they move you to one of the hotels until the storm passes.
