I come from a military family, and we are planning our next trip for Memorial Day 2016. We have always stopped to watch the flag retreat at the magic kingdom, and noticed service members get to assist. Any idea how those people are selected? Would be very special if I could get my dad and uncle that opportunity. Definitely a Disney bucket list item!

They service member/veteran they recognize each day is randomly selected somewhere in the park in the morning/early afternoon by a cast member. You cannot request it unfortunately.
