FL Residents! Help!

I'm booking our trip online right now for 9/21 Sunday to 9/26 Thursday. I have us booked at a Value Resort and I have clicked the Florida Resident tickets, but it only shows up in the OTHER option, not the Theme Park ticket option.
Due to the fact I'm buying FL resident tickets, we won't have a "Magic Your Way" package! This means no pre-FP scheduling and no magic bands right?
Why is that I can get fl resident tickets, book in the hotel, but not get the package?
Help!

It is just the way the system has always worked. You can get a Florida resident room, but there is not Florida resident package. I have always assumed that this is due to the large number of ever changing ticket options we have.

Maybe if I call and book I can at least are if she can do something for me? I would really like Magic Bands and to be able to book my FP+ options earlier!

You will get the magic bands with just the room reservation. I am not 100% positive on if you can get FP+ options to open up with just a room though. However, you can order tickets separately, add them to your profile and you will be good to go.

Not sure of the concern here. You get advance 60 day FP+ with any type of Disney resort reservation. But you obviously need tix also. Have you thought about waiting for FR Fall Rates? I'm an FR and they're not yet on the WDW website.

While I was booking, I noticed it said something along the lines of, "Purchase Park Tickets in order for Magic Your Way package" but I have FR Park Tickets in my cart under the "Other" category, not the "Ticket" category. That confused me.

Also, I am holding off on booking for now. I found my old 7 Day Park Ticket that I got in 2008(it wasn't ever supposed to expire) I forgot I even had it! I found it in my safe! So now, I have to look into that first.

You are all good, no worries. Just book your room under the Florida Discount and then separately purchase your Florida Discount Tickets. You will get your Fast Pass + and your magic bands.

The magicband comes with the room reservation or your APs. If you have tickets and they can be linked to your reservation, you can get your 60-Day FP+ booking option. Otherwise the only way to book FP+ early is to have APs. An older ticket will probably have to be converted to a new ticket before it will be able to link to your reservation.

However, if you want the DDP, you need to get a Magic Your Way package, which includes tickets. As others have said, the resort reservation will give you Magic Bands. The tickets will get you FP+ selections. Once the Florida Resident resort discounts for the Fall are announced, I would call Disney Travel and change the resort reservation you booked to get the discount - for a Value resort, the savings are usually 15% - 20%.

If you are a Florida resident and plan on going more than once a year, I would look into purchasing a Florida Resident Annual Pass - you can select the monthly payment option after paying the down payment, which is the price of a Florida resident single day ticket. The cost of Florida Resident tickets for two trips will basically pay for a Florida Resident Annual Pass. Plus, you get the advantage of resort discounts for AP, dining discounts and merchandise discounts. And you don't need a resort reservation to make FP+ selections - AP can make them 30 days out. And they give you a cool magnet for your car!

Yes you can. I have done it multiple times. We are passholders and only book a room. Once I have my room booked I use FP+ and set up my fast passes. My parents recently booked a room and separately bought their Discover Disney passes. They didn't even have their tickets as they purchased them at check in and I set up their fast passes too. After you book you can go and customize your wristbands and have them shipped too.

As long as they have tickets that can be tied to their MDE account, then they can book FP+. The system will tell you if the guests you are selecting FP+ for don't have valid tickets for that time. The nice thing about AP is you get 30 days out as an AP and 60 days if you are a resort guest.
