Five hours one Friday – DL Trip Report 4/1

No foolin, I finally got a chance to go to Disneyland. It ahs been since 1/21 that I last went. And there is one thing I would like to say…boy is Disneyland looking sharp! The day was about 80, crystal blue skies, slight breeze and everything glistened. I am truly impressed. The only blockage I saw was around Great Moments auditorium. (I was not in NOS, Critter, or Tomorrowland today.)

My purpose was to get footage and photography of Fantasyland and Toontown and if there was any extra time, Adventureland.

I pulled up at 7:45 and got into the Park at 8:10. The delay was with the trams. As I walked up a tram pulled out. It seemed about 10 minutes before one returned. Not a biggie, I just chilled. By the time I got to the gate area it was a 2 minute line tops.

I headed directly to Fantasyland where I rode Peter Pan (2), Dumbo, Tea Cups, and Storybookland all within the first hour. From there the Park was beginning to fill up. Not bad mind you, but more then this little AP likes to wait in lines. I did manage to get 2 rides in on Alice.

I headed up to TT at 9:30 and the area was empty. I rode Roger Rabbit twice with a total of maybe 10 minutes in line – that is 10 minutes total between standing in line twice. I guess the secret got out because by the time I exited the second time the line was almost to the door; which is about a 25-30 minute wait – so I walked around TT and shot lots of pics.

I stopped off at Small World and rode it twice. Both sides were operating and the line was very smooth. And an amazing thing happened, the second time thru no one was chatting up a storm on the boat! Wow. I don’t know what it is about this ride but it causes people to babble at the mouth. But not on the second time thru – which should yield me a very nice audio source.

It was now 11 so I dropped in at Bengal for my favorite lunch, 2 Banyans and 1 Bengal; along with my Diet Coke. I took it to the ROA dining area and parked in the shade. At 11 Pirates had a standby of 30 minutes.

I headed back to Adventureland and took in back to back Tiki Birds. The outside and inside are looking great. They did a very nice job with the rehab.

From there my departure time was getting close so I did a walk around Fantasyland and shot pictures. As I passed the Matterhorn Mickey was climbing and Goofy and Minnie were watching from their ledge. Cute little show. I snapped a couple pictures and listened as I walked by. I didn’t really stand and watch the show.

I stopped by Disneyana and there are no new books for sale yet – so I headed out of the Park and hit the tram at 12:45. Not bad for less then 5 hours time.

Well, if you are comparing it to the TR on Visions Fantastic, then they are not similar - they are identical. ;)

I hang out & post on both boards. Not everyone reads both sites so I post to both spots.
