Fitting it all in...Fantasmic and Osborne Spectacle of Lights

We will be at Hollywood Studios on Dec. 16th. I have fast passes for Fantasmic and dinner reservations at Mama Melrose at 7:45. I really want to see Osborne Spectacle of lights between Fantasmic and dinner. Will I have enough time? My kids are 3 and 7. Will Fantasmic be too scary for them? Thoughts or suggestions???

You will have a little time (between 15-30 minutes) to view the lights between Fantasmic and your dinner reservation, since Mama's is in close proximity to the lights. Keep in mind that the Streets of America (where the lights are located) will be VERY crowded and people move very slowly through the displays so you may not get to see all of it.

We are not Fantasmic fans, and would gladly give up that in order to spend more time viewing the lights, which we love. The show isn't so much scary (although there are some parts that might be unsettling for young children) as it is boring in parts (a long Pocahontas sequence).

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Fantasmic! I loved it when I was 6 and my sister liked it as well when she was 3. Some parts can be loud and the only part I find halfway boring is when the bubbles with movie scenes go on for like 6 minutes straight. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't go. We will be seeing the lights for the first time this Christmas (Christmas Day, actually!) so I can't really answer your question, but maybe you should do something for lunch instead and have a QS dinner or a late dinner at Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club (a walk or boat ride away from DHS) for more time at the Lights!

They usually leave the lights on after they close for those that had dining reservations and get out after the park closes. Last year we had the same time ressies at Sci-Fi and when we got out even though the park closed at 8 and it was NOT an EMH night they left the lights on until about 9:30 or so. It was nice b/c there was not many people and we had about 30 min to enjoy them. Hopefully they do this while you are there.
