im am a user of a fitbit one and i'm quite looking forward to finding to how many miles you actually cover whilst in WDW, does anyone happen to know if being on the attraction affects step count or anything like that? I wouldnt be surprised if being on an attraction like dinosaur with all its shaking would put an extra 30 miles on in the space of a few minutes lol

I wear a Fit Bit One and I average about 22.000 steps a day while at the World. I think the rides probably do add a step or two, but I have checked on occasion and didn't find the difference to much at all. Nothing like 30 miles LOL ;)

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Yes I have worn mine too and I would check when I got off a ride like that and maybe it 30-100 at the absolute most steps but no not anything that drastically alters your steps. Lol. You could always look what it is before and after really bumpy/or roller coaster type rides and take the difference and subtract all those off your daily total. I have done that once By entering the numbers in my phone to save them. But frankly it did not take many off at all to make much of a difference. If you walk 20,000 -30,000 steps and take even 500-1000 (if even that much) off that original total is still pretty accurate of how much you walked. :)

On a side note, have you had any issues with the strap ? I got mine at Christmas and its split (almost all the way round) between the tracker housing and the led strip . Fitbit are sending a replacement after I complained :)
No I haven't had any problems with mine but I don't always use the same strap every day. I bought the Fitbit brand 3 pack of the bright colors for like $30 bucks so I change out my bands a lot. I have some other non Fitbit brand ones I use too. So I guess I'm not putting all the wear and tear on the original band. I got mine in January I believe. :)

For me, my black band compliments everything I wear !!!

Might be beneficial to get a spare one (or two)

Lol! I initially got the pink one but as a girl I like to accessorize and like lots of color so I am constantly changing mine out. Lol. Tory Burch the designer even makes bands and necklaces that hold it. I have one of the bracelets. I know silly to have so many but I figured why not?. lol :)

Hey, You're a girl. You collect Fitbit bands like you collect shoes and handbags. And if you have a new pair of shoes you have to have an outfit that goes with them (well, that's what the wife tells me)

Mine Fitbit Flex band also split, I replaced it and the next one split. It was from taking the unit in and out to recharge, the rubber just doesnt hold up. I recently upgraded to the Charge which is wider and has the recharge port built in. Looking forward to using it on my upcoming trip. On past trips I've gotten close to 30000 steps in, I'm up early, out late on the move. I noticed also the bumping added some steps because of the jostling, but it wasnt excessive amounts. Have fun using it and tracking your daily walks at Disney.

I have a Misfit Flash and so far the only ride that I’ve noticed anything registering on the tracker out of the norm is TSMM, because I generally wear it on the hand that’s pulling the string. Because of how it appears on my report it’s easy to spot. I just wish I could delete that bit from my “steps” but leave it for my activity … seriously firing that thing 800-1000 times in 5 minutes should count towards my workout.

The majority of rides, even shaky ones, only seem to add 5-25 steps on my Misfit; which by the end of a big day compensates for the steps it tends to miss in slow moving lines.

This also varies by where I have my tracker located. On the wrist seems to add more during rides but misses them in slow times. On the shoe catches more of the slow time steps but adds fewer on rides.

Yes, there are things I do in my job that makes it register steps and I wish there was a way to momentarily delay the recording of the steps. I end up taking the Fitbit off now and set it aside when I know I'm going to be adding steps that shouldnt count and will be cheating.

Ohhhh if only pulling the TSMM cord would work at burning calories .... sadly, its never that easy.:banghead::banghead:

I had a Zip in 2013, and didn't notice a lot of inaccuracies. As others noted, I'm sure it added a few steps here and there, but not much.

Then again, the Zip works differently, so I'm not sure if the wristband versions would be less accurate or not.

Thats good to know, i'm not too worried about adding extra steps I usually use mine to keep an eye on calorie intake (which more or less goes out the window at WDW).

I used to have a flex but it got wrecked at work, I replaced it with a one which is better for me as I can put it inside my equipment belt and can wear a proper watch again

On Saturday May 2nd...we did Epcot from about 9-3 ish and then walking around the resort at night and my husbands step tracker on his phone said we did 24k steps...or 12 miles...that was the most we did that week...
