Fishing at POR FQ?

Hello Everyone-

Ive read several times about the fishing available at POR, so I'm wondering who has done it and any good? Any insight? I am hoping for some time away while my group does something else

PORS do cane pole fishing and guided bass fishing excursions.

I haven't done this but have read good reviews for it. I will take my granddaughter in November!

Hi, My DWF and I have gone on the guided fishing excursions about 5 times. It cost's around $300 for us for a few hours. The DWF and I have caught numerous Large Mouth Bass and have had our pictures taken with the biggest fish we have caught. One year I pulled in a 6.5 pounder and a year later my wife caught a 7 pounder. A lot of fun but make sure to book and go in the AM or late afternoon.

I've never done this, but a friend of mine took her two boys - 4 & 6 - and they loved it! They said it was one of the favorite parts of their trip.

My DBF tried doing the cane pole fishing at PORS in Nov 2012 the morning of our departure. He got up early and got there right after it opened...an no one showed up. It took 30 minutes, a small crowd gathering, and a Grounds CM driving by to find the CM who was supposed to be manning the fishing hole.

DBF said it was probably more entertaining for the younger kids, but next time he wanted to fish in WDW he'd look into a charter. The fish weren't too eager to go after hot dog pieces in the river.
