how old were you on your first visit to WDW?

Do you think that there is a "right" age that you fully appreciate it at? can you be too young to understand the magic fully!?

as you have got older have your perceptions of WDW changed? better/worse?

no reason for this, i'm just wondering...!

oh yes, im new, hello, and have been posting and reading quite a bit today, this is a very cool board and im very excited about my trip this summer as a result :)

I first went when I was 2. I don't think I reall y started to get into the whole thing and, yes, borderline obssesive about it until I was 17 or 18. I think it started to kick in that I was getting older and having to "grow up" so Disney represents memories of childhood, so that's why I appreciated it more when I was older. I think now at 22 I dig that place more than ever.

I was 8 months old in the womb (which, in my opinion, is part of the reason for the obsession). My first real trip was at 23 mo. old, and I only remember bits and pieces. I have gone every summer since, and I'm 20.

I was 8 years old on my first trip in 1973. That was way back in the old days when you had to buy tickets for each ride. The character pictures I have is with the Orange Bird (anyone remember that?) and Gus (the mouse from Cinderella).

It's A Small World was THE ride.

I feel deprived of Disney looking at the age everyone was the first time they went. I first went when I was 14. So now I have to make up for missed time.

I was also 2 on my first trip. Though I can remember certain things from my younger years, I don't think I really appreciated Disney 'magic' until I was a middle teen.

I was 11, and I was coming from another country, so everything sure was overwhelming. I remember bits of pieces of it, thanks mainly to videos and pictures. But this is an interesting stand-off: while I think, specially in the case of international Guests, you could be wasting a lot of money taking a very young child (say 2 to 6) who's not gonna remember much afterwards, I also would love to introduce WDW to my kids as soon as I can. So there's the dilemma!

My first trip was in 1985, I was 7 and remember being in total awe of everything! I hadn't even heard of a monorail until I went to WDW. I think I enjoyed riding the monorail more than anything else! Anyway, whenever I miss Disney I always break out the old home movies of that first trip. :)
