First Trip to DLP

Next May I’m going to be doing the ABD UK Tour and (since I’m already over there and have a few more days of vacation) will be doing a DLP trip before. This is a solo trip. Arriving at CDG on a Friday afternoon, flying to Dublin on a Tuesday. Ever since I’ve seen videos I have always wanted to stay at the Disneyland Paris Hotel, so I will be 😎. Booked a deluxe room. So essentially I’m going to be doing 3.5 days in the parks.

I need some tips, restaurants (after reviewing I think I want to do Chez Remy and the Steakhouse at the Marvel Hotel. My first night I think I’m going to not have a restaurant reservation as I have no idea how I’m going to feel. So I need one more night. What are the good quick service places? Breakfast is covered with my room.

Early Entry is everyday at both parks I see, how would you plan it knowing my main park days are Sat-Mon. DL, DS, Hop? Or should I do DS on a Saturday because DL will be packed? Should I consider premier pass, saved spots for fireworks? Are they worth it? Also any other park touring trips.

Money is not really a major factor, as I don’t expect to return and want to do it right, but at the same time not going to spend if I don’t need to.

park hopping is easy, as the parks are right next to each other, and gives you flexibility with crowds and such. if it's raining i always find studios better - just seems to have more indoor queues and stuff.

over 3.5 days, unless it's easter or Christmas you won't need premier pass for anything except Crush. i would get a premier pass if you could spread them all out over the trip but the rules mean you have to use them all on one day. every other ride will have time when it's 20 min or less, usually towards the end of the day so book dinner about 5-6.

never done it but don't think reserved viewing areas for any show or fireworks are necessary. with the Pixar show though try to get a seat near the middle.

by steakhouse in marvel i think you mean Manhattan restaurant which is my family's favourite by some distance, based purely on the food. we haven't done Table de Lumierre though and that menu looks impressive.

You can buy a Premier Pass for certain rides if you find the queue is too long. I wouldn’t buy the packaged one.

You can also get reserved seating for shows on the day. We did that for Mickey and the Magician (Studios).

For early entry at the Studios, you basically have a choice. Either go for Crush or go for the other rides. Avengers Campus has both the RnR and Web Slingers. Ratatouille is the other side of the park. ToT is in the middle. The Studios park is easily done in less than a day.

DL is different to Magic Kingdom for early entry. Check which rides are open beforehand! I made plans which turned to dust when we realised Pirates wasn’t open, nor was Snow White or Pinocchio. Also check the times of the parades; we were there for the Disney 100 and the time of the main parade changed the next day.

Make sure to explore Adventureland especially, so much better than MK. Lots of paths to explore, and Adventure Isle is really well done. I loved Frontierland too.

Don’t miss the Skyline Bar at the Marvel hotel. But be aware it doesn’t open until the evening. The Redwood Lounge at Sequoia was also a nice place for small plates in the evening.

I wasn’t impressed by the Steakhouse in Disney Village. But I did enjoy Walt’s, especially for all the photos and memorabilia.

I meant to add, early entry is a breeze at Paris.

We never rope drop at WDW, it’s just too early for us to be there before it opens and so on.

In Paris, staying at Sequoia, we woke at 7, (90 minutes before early entry), all showered, walked to the Village going through security on the way, got breakfast at Earl of Sandwich and sat to eat it there before heading to the park. We walked through ticket check in a single line arriving right at 8:30 No queues, no rushing except maybe to Crush. But so much more relaxed, even with the later start time.

Staying at the Disneyland Hotel it’ll be even easier. You could roll out of bed at 8 and still be there for the start!

We were there just a few weeks ago for four days. We used the individual premier passes most days. Super easy to use, just buy and redeem through the DLP ap. Vet similar to ILL. Almost all had immediate return times. Only Big Thunder would post up to 1 hr return times. You probably won't need to buy to many, but who knows when European school holidays are. The parks we filled with visitors from Spain the first week of September when we were just there (I know because they poled the audience at the Lion King show - a must see btw). Clearly some kind of break or holiday in Spain.

We ate at Brasserie Rosalie across from Earl of Sandwich in Disney Village. It opend last year so fairly new. We both really liked the food. We also got a reservation for Chez Remy by stalking the ap in the morning around the time the place opens and finally got one. Make a reservation 60 days out. I should have. Walt's was a fun experience but the food was not that good.

We walled through DLP Hotel and it looks great! Had a very expensive cocktail in the lounge and bought a nice Disneyland Paris polo for me in thier shop. You will have a fantastic stay there I am sure.

Disney Studios is more like an amusement "parklet", rather than a full park. What is there is fun. I'm sure there will still be lots of construction walls up when you are there, but Frozen Land looks really cool, so worth it in the end. That park really needs some help.
