First trip ever...this November

Hello All-

After years and years of wanting to visit Disney World it is finally a reality! My family and I's visit is booked for November 16-23? How are the crowds during this time? What is the average wait time for the most popular rides? I was hoping to get advice on how to plan my days at the park. I have gone to Disneyland probably 10 times in my life and I am used to going on my favorite rides many, many times so it stresses me out a little that I will now have 4 parks to visit in just 6 days (I will have a park hopper ticket). Any ideas on how to plan my 6 days at WDW? Also, would you recommend the MVMCP?

You best bet for planning a trip as a first timer is to get the Unofficial guide to Disney and read it. touring plans will have crowd calenders to help you plan your days. The other best piece of advice I can give you is figure out which table service places you want to eat at and book them YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some places are already booked. If you don't get exactly what you want book your second choice and hopefully somebody else will cancel and you'll get in! Good luck and happy planning. BTW I can't even begin to tell you how important rope drop is!!!!!!!!!!!!! Be at the park well before opening!!!!!!!!!

That week will be a great time for a first trip to wdw! The crowds should be very manageable, and the weather is usually great! The parks will be all decked out for Christmas - it's our favorite time of year to go!

I would echo the above from Figgy - get the UG and read it front to back. Touring plans is also a great tool that we use every time to determine which parks are best for which days, and what rides to do first thing, etc. And, yes, the reality of WDW is that you really need to book dining reservations as soon as possible if you plan to do table service meals.

I will say we are looking at those dates for quick trip down. One thing that might help your planing is that the parks that have the evening EMH will be more crowded than on days when they don't. Having 6 days gives you time to experience all 4 parks, and two days to see things you missed. You can see most of AK in one day, and DHS the same. AK will close most days at about 5pm, so you can spend the evening at another park, checking out DTD, or the Boardwalk area. Have a great time planing and enjoy your trip!

If it were me, I would check park hours first. I would try to get to each park at rope drop on one day of the trip, and if any park has early EMH, I would go to that park on that day. If you want to avoid crowds, getting there at rope drop (or early EMH) is the way to go. I would then look at a crowd calendar to see which parks will be least crowded on various days of my trip, and I'd use that to narrow down which parks I want to start in on which days. Six days is plenty of time for a first visit, especially with park hopper tickets. Once I know which parks I plan to do on which days, I start to fill in my dining preferences so I can match up the restaurants I want with the parks I plan to be in those days (this is useful even if you have a park hopper pass because it saves time to eat where you are, or in a resort near to where you are). Oh, and don't miss the Osborne Lights at DHS one evening (if they're up by then - I can't recall)!

Well since your only 22 and you've been 10 times to DL,then I take it your at California..Hey,go enjoy the party in November.I did DL back in 2001, when visiting sister in law in Los Angeles..Don't be stressed out,go with the flow..Up early in the morning,and plan your days in advance..My first WDW vacation was 7 days,we planned everything we wanted to see and had a ball..

I also map out my plans and park time/ADRs based on the calendar. Crowds shouldn't be too bad since you'll be there before the Thanksgiving rush. Still you can use sites like Touring Plans and Easy WDW to get the crowd projections. I'd make ADRs pronto though b/c things book up - some things book up VERY quickly...or require stalking and stalking to snag something. MVMCP is also an option for your dates.

Edit- don't forget to work in some time to check out the resort decorations. Many of them go up Nov 16/17...at least that's what we experienced and seem to be the same dates in previous years as well.

Welcome to WDW Magic and congrats on your first trip! I will have to say that the crowds at this time can be heavy or vacant (depends). Wait times could vary on day and time. So, if you are at MK at OC then lines will be shorter typically, but later the lines will be longer, but 3:00 during the CADCTP lines will be practically empty, due to everyone wanting do watch the most atrocious parade Disney has had since they ended the show stop this parade is a disaster. Anyway, I would recommend the MVMCP it is absolutely amazing. I always go at that time of year and always get tix.
