My family leaves for Disney, Aug. 4. We will be staying in Alligator Bayou. We would like to be near a quiet pool and a bus stop. Any recommendations for room requests? Thanks so much!!!

We personally prefer 14 or 15 in Alligator Bayou everytime we go. It seems to be closest to everything including the main building. The bus stop was especially short along with the food court.

I will second this post. 14 or 15 are definitely your best bets.

That's the only place we stay when we go, and yeah , get as close to the main building as possible, because nothing's worse then the long walk back to your room after a long day (or night) !

Just ask for the CLOSEST TO THE MAIN BUILDING. Also, when you go to the bus stop, go to the main one at the main building. The busses pick up POFQ 1st and then the main buiding at POR, then the other bus stops at POR. YOur best bet for a seat would be the main bus stop. This is the way it was when I was there last, so I am just assuming it is stillthis way. If anyone knows different, please correct me. Thanks!!

Personally, though, if you're going for theming, I prefer the mansion part.
Closest building here is Oak Manor.
In Magnolia Bend, Oak Manor is nearest to the Resort center, and is adjacent to one of the "quiet" pools. Magnolia Terrace is mentioned by many to be an ideal location, while others find Oak Manor to be a better choice. A recent guest at Riverside reminds us that Oak Manor is a smoking building and Magnolia Terrace is a non-smoking building.

Magnolia Bend is themed as four 2- and 3-story mansion homes, reflecting the large plantation residences in Mississippi many decades ago. Here you'll find well kept lawns, wrought iron railings and trellises, crawling roses and an elegant motif. At any time you'd expect to see the Colonel and his wife greet you on the main lawn waiting to invite you in.

Another important feature to note about the mansions is the fact that you must cross the Sassagoula River bridges to get to the food court, gift shop and other main building features.

Just a little help from my favorite site www.allearsnet.com :)

Hope this helps!!

It depends on what you really want. We had stayed in building a few trips back in late 90s that I thought was like building 18 but could be wrong. We really liked it as it was close to a bus stop and reasonably close to 2 pools. The thing we really liked was it was really close to the main building and was perfect for the refillable mugs and we really got our money's worth.

On our last trip though that had become a smoking building, which is great if you are a smoker, but we are not so we opted for a different building.

Try to look at a resort layout and it should help. Also take note of parking lots if you want to avoid having a room near one.

We have stayed in building 15, and it was fantastic. Short walk to the main building and also to the bus stop. Very quiet, also, as we were on the parking lot side of the building, so very little foot traffic.

18 and 16 are the closest to the pool and the bus stop. Building 14 is right outside of the food court and is one of the hardest to get. It can be quite noisy since you hear the crowd walking past it in order to get to the food court if you are facing thta walkway. I have stayed in 18 and 14.
I do have a map of the property.
