First timer, please help

Hi, hoping someone can help? Sorry bit of a long one.

We are looking to book our first WDW trip for last two weeks in October 2015. According to the Virgin brochure, if we book by 4th November 2014 we will get the free dining, which saves us £980. But I have been playing around with October 2014 prices on Virgin site for flights only and by lossing 2 days we save £1,039 plus a saving of £393 on room (£1,432 saving in total) Yet I cant book these till end Nov 2014. What should I do???

We are on a really tight budget, working every hour possible to achieve our dream holiday. But it feels impossible right now. Any advise would be great, thank you. Only other option is to go in August but we know the heat will be a nightmare (my daughter and I find UK summer to hot as it is )

Sorry more questions. Do Disney charge a fee to add additional days onto a reservation? Do they charge credit card fee?

Thanks very much xx

I wanted to give some advice about flying into Sanford. We did that a couple years ago and it was a very easy drive. We're only 1-2 tolls from what I recall. Once you left the airport parking lot it was only one road until you got to I4 and then a straight shot to Disney. All the rentals cars companies were there and you would have the car if you wanted to visit other non Disney parks. Good luck with any choice you make and have a great time.

Thank you, thats a great help. Can I ask? I have read some estimate transfere times as 1hr 15mins but a lot of trip reports say it was around 40 mins. How long was yours? Did you find it a long journey after should a long flight? Thanks

I want to say it was about an hour or so. It wasn't a long drive at all and we were anxious to get to Orlando. We stopped at International drive to eat lunch and shop before heading to WDW.

We are officially booked :D

Just spoke to the nicest CM, she almost made me cry she was so nice!! Booked a one bed villa in SSR for 12 nights inc flights to MCO for October 2015. Flight times not confirmed till November but we got free dining plan and $200 gift card. Flights where so much cheaper than I expected which was an even bigger bonus.

How long till my reservation can be linked to the disney planning tools as the reservation wont come up? Yet I did only give it a few miniutes from putting phone down.

Thank you so much for everyones help (so far ) Would never have got this far without all your help :)

Woo Hoo fantastic - I did exactly the same as you....apparently you can link your reservation about 6 months before I think if you are staying at Saratoga for some reason you have to wait a little longer than the other hotels!!! Hey - we might see you there!!! I am so happy for you yes the guys on the phone are fabulous - we are celebrating our wedding anniversary the week before we go but she still listed it as a celebration as we had our honeymoon there in 2012.....Shop around for your flights though as I think they use Virgin and they are a bit more expensive even in Economy than say Thomson and I believe on the Dreamliner the economy seats are quite roomy. We are travelling on the Dreamliner when we go for the first time so fingers crossed!!! xx Take Care xx

Thanks Tinkerbell, was worried we might not be booked but I have had a basic email from Disney. We have gone for the flights as a package, despite being convinced it would be cheaper elsewhere. Yet the prices quoted by Thompson where loads more. We have gone for a slightly shorter stay by 2 days which has helped. I am just glad I dont have to worry now waiting to sort flights. Plus hubby still refusing to drive so free transfere it is. Plus we are within budget now so Discovery Cove is next to book :D Thanks for all your help.
