First time visitor

I will be going to WDW for the first time in dec. (with my Mom and boyfriend) and starting to save fun money for the parks...

Since this is our first time we are not looking for money saver tips when it comes to food and shopping because we do not want to regret not eating somewhere or buying something when we return home...

About how much would you say a WDW virgin needs?

I'm guessing the max. of $60 a day per person.

We usually bring at least $50 per person for each day and really are comfortable doing things on that amount. Have a great time which I am sure you will. :) :)

Well, congrats on your first visit. I would agree that 50-60 each day per person would cover expenses. To give you a ballpark, most high end meals will run 50-75 dollars for the 2 of you. Especially Cinderella's Castle, where we usually spend about 60 dollars for dinner.

Have a great time.

You are going to have to best time, and then you will see why we are all Disney freaks. I think 50 - 60 a day per person is a good number, I guess it depends wht you want to do. Try to hit up as many resturants as you can, but try not to rush through everything. This trip is something you will want to remember. When you get back, be sure to post a trip report. Can't wait to read it!!!!!!!!! :sohappy:

Welcome to WDWMagic

You can check your food budget out against current menu prices at www.wdwig.com.

We usually have table service at least one meal a day and I am a drinker so that usually ups the amount I spend. If you even drink one alcoholic beverage it can add 5-10 dollars to your meal price.

I always try to overbudget so I don't have to watch my spending during the trip. So if you think 60/day is good, you may want to up it 10-20/day just for a cushion.

We are planing our next trip right now as well. Use the site listed above, its very good info.

One tip we have found money wise is to have an over flow fund. About $250 above your normal fund for random stuff. If you don't bring some extra cash you will find something odd and wonderful and dip into your food fund to get it.

There is to much stuff being sold in disney not to bring a big souviner fund. Let yourself be weak!

and have fun :D :D :D :D

Congratulations on your fisrt trip! :sohappy:

While how much should you budget while you're there is an important question, the more important question is how are you going to save for your next trip?

As you cab see hear we're all hooked. You'll find yourself saving change, returning bottles and picking up little jobs to get back.

Enjoy your trip and welcome to the boards.

Did you check in to the gold or platinum plan. Your food is included then all you need to worry about is spending cash. Also with the gold and Platinum plans your tickets, hotel, and recreation are included so you can do as much as you want to. Our fav. is the water mice.

We were down to the WL and Pop, since we won't be spending too much time in the room we decided on Pop

By the time I have my second visit I will have graduated from college and my whole family will be paying for the trip as a gift :D
