First Time Visitor to WDW

Hi there!

I have a friend who will be going to WDW for the first time next week. She and her five year old boy will be visiting for a week and staying at the All-Star-Movies.

Not having kids myself, and never having been there with kids, I was a little unsure of how to answer her question about any last minute details. I gave her some generic advice and warned her of the weather in Florida this time of year (both the head and the rain)

Anybody else have anything to add? She'll more than likely only be visiting the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom.

Thanks for anything you can add. She doesn't have Internet at home so she can't join here.

Rick

EDIT: Clarify statement about me never having been there.

Why only MK and AK???? I love AK and I think it´s perfect for kids that age, but the studios and Epcot also have things to offer. Staying there for a week, she will have plenty of time to go visit those other two parks in the same day if she wants to, but there are things in them that her kid will like, I am sure.
Also, tell her to go to SeaWorld, her kid will love it!

Maria,

Thanks! I agree about going to the other parks. Her financial situation doesn't really allow much for that though (as much as I've tried to talk her into it!)

She's unfortunately going to be paying for single entries into the park.

I'll mention Seaworld to her though! I went years ago and enjoyed it, but haven't been back. Maybe I will go myself in December!

I know she's going to Gatorland Zoo - I gave her a buy one get one free coupon for that.

aaawweee... that´s too bad she won´t be able to park hop... :(
Then she will need to fill up her days there with different cheaper things to do in Orlando... hhmmm...

I am not sure if SeaWorld has that option now, but I read months ago that they still had the two days ticket -within a week-. That could work good for her cause they could do some shows one day and some others the next. I know I went back to SW as an adult and I think I liked it more than when I was a kid. We also took a "behind the scenes" tour to pet a penguin and see the polar bears and we loved it. It was only $6 p/p. Since it´s going to be very hot those days, getting showered by Shamu doesn´t sound that bad (although that water is real cold -bbrrr). :animwink:
