Hello everyone, first off let me say thank you for even click and reading so far, basically.... well this is a little embarrassing for me... but I have never been on a trip before without a family member (none of which can give me a remotely clear answer god love them) and I have a few questions. I am planning a trip to Universal Studios (September 5th - September 8th, 4 days/3 nights) and we are planning to stay at Cabana Bay (two adults, well 22 & 24) and it's $116 per night, my deposit is $130 & change, so after paying my deposit does anyone know if I pay the remaining $200+ dollars when I arrive at Universal (check in) or on departure (check out)?? I know this is probably a stupid question but I am just trying to plan my money, and what card to put my hotel on and things. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND ANY OTHER TIPS OR LESSON FOR A FIRST TIMER IS WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you arrive they will put your card on file and charge it as you check out. If you have questions you can call them directly and they will be happy to answer them for you. Really good customer service at CBBR 407-503-4000. Enjoy your trip!

I always have them close out my bill at check in. Then I leave a different card on file for room charges. It gets confusing with "holds" on the cards- depending on which hotel you stay at, they "hold" a different amount per day. I'm crazy about knowing EXACTLY how much money I have. Also, from experience, I found I charge WAY less if I don't charge everything to the room. IDK why, I'm more mindful when I use an actual credit card.

I have stayed at CBBR several times and never put charging on my room card. I prefer to pull a CC out if I want to buy something not the room card. I let them know when I am out of the room (can be done on the TV if you wish) and I get the email saying my card was charged almost at once. I don't buy movies etc in the room so all I ever see is the parking and room charge.

HRH has always given me the option- "You owe $xxx plus parking, for a total of $, would you like to close out or keep it open?" I always close it out. The one time I kept it opened it was a HUGE mistake. Our friends were with us and we paid the bar tab after spending ALL DAY at the pool. We just charged it to the room, as if the room paid the bill  $657:jawdrop::facepalm:. We did eat lunch and dinner, but:jawdrop:

Okay thanks guys! This has been super helpful! So far I am compiling a list of any question I have or think I need to ask and I am planning to call customer service this week. I'd just rather make one big long phone call rather than a bunch of short ones. just me though. Also someone told me to call ask about deals/discount over the phone because they often have one not listed on their website. Does anyone have any experience with this? Just curious....

My car and washer broke the same day a couple of weeks before a trip. I called to reduce the # of nights we were staying due to finances, and they took $50/night off so we could keep our vacation as it was!! Customer service beats Disney IMO. They are super nice and usually you're not holding forever.

Never hurts to ask, the pricing is fluid so there are annual pass discounts, stay longer pay less discounts, American express discounts, look at the parking lot rather than the pool discounts etc. For those you might end up at the reservation number but start at the one I posted above
