First time to Star Wars Weekend

This will be our first time to enjoy Star Wars Weekend. What do we need to get the most out of our visit. We really don't know all the procedures or really what to expect. Any tips as to what to prepare for. Arrive early? Any unknown fastpasses needed? Where can we find the fast passes we would need? Times we would need to be at a certain place to see the never to be missed event? Thanks for all your help.

Arrive early for the opening show. Funny stuff. Get a fastpass for one of the shows or line up early. Check the map for roaming characters. Get a Darth cupcake.

Arrive about an hour to 45 min early so you are close to if not the first at turnstiles. The stormtroopers come out early and you want to be close to see the preshow. Get a map or familiarize yourself with schedule of events and decide beforehand who and what you want to see.
Be early for the parade and stake out your spot. My experience is that people are very aggressive for this parade and will try to squeeze in front of you or next to you 5 minutes before the parade starts. This almost happened to us but me and the families next to me stood our ground and when the lady, who tried to get in front of us called over the CM, he knew she was lying about being there for awhile because we had talked to him for an hour. So make friends with the CMs and families around you because they will have your back.

The Feel the Force Premium Package makes the day less stressful.
Yes and no. There is a thread where we discussed this package and some of us stated that if you are not close to the front of the line to check in for the package you have a lousy view of the parade because they had the viewing area in a section where only so many people could view in front. They didn't expand the length for viewing. So be careful with this package because it isn't cheap. Maybe they will have improved it from last year.
It was the same for the dessert party/fireworks viewing. You have to be one of the first to check in to get a table.
