hi all.

my husband and i will be bringing our 3yr old daughter to WDW this july. we are still at the planning stage and need some help. just a few questions:

1) how's the weather in late july to august? do we need to bring raincoats?
2) how's the crowd during that time?
3) it's a toss up between coronado springs hotel and hilton hotel inside disney park, with hilton a little cheaper and also including EMH.
4) is the EMH for the hilton the same as the regular EMH?
5) if we stay at coronado springs or the hilton, do they provide a bottle sterilizer or microwave in the room?
6) we want to rent a stroller in orlando, but not from the park (as they say it is expensive), any suggestions on companies that rent out?

i'm sure i'll have other questions to follow but hope someone can answer these first.

thanks.

:)

The weather is usually hot and humid but there are afternoon showers so i'd bring raincoats just to be safe

2) how's the crowd during that time?
The crowds will be quite busy due to the fact that it's summer and many English tourists will go and many other people.

3) it's a toss up between coronado springs hotel and hilton hotel inside disney park, with hilton a little cheaper and also including EMH.
Is this a question?:lookaroun

4) is the EMH for the hilton the same as the regular EMH?
If the hotel is on disney property then yeah it will be the same :)

5) if we stay at coronado springs or the hilton, do they provide a bottle sterilizer or microwave in the room?
On the website have a look at the "inroom facilities" it should say on there, but you might have to pay extra for one but im not suree.

Go to walmart or a local store and pick one up and just leave it or give it away at the end of your trip if you dont want it as disney stroller rentals ARE expensive :)

hi all.

my husband and i will be bringing our 3yr old daughter to WDW this july. we are still at the planning stage and need some help. just a few questions:

1) how's the weather in late july to august? do we need to bring raincoats?Hot and humid. I would not bring full rain gear but emergency ponchos would be a good idea and shoes that can get wet are not a bad idea either.
2) how's the crowd during that time?Very busy. Get to the parks at least 1/2 an hour before opening and use morning EMH and fastpasses.
3) it's a toss up between coronado springs hotel and hilton hotel inside disney park, with hilton a little cheaper and also including EMH. I would go with Coronado. This will avoid you having to rent a car. The Hilton does have transportation but it is not very good.
4) is the EMH for the hilton the same as the regular EMH? Yes.
5) if we stay at coronado springs or the hilton, do they provide a bottle sterilizer or microwave in the room? No.
6) we want to rent a stroller in orlando, but not from the park (as they say it is expensive), any suggestions on companies that rent out? You best bet is to buy one of the umbrella strollers Disney has at the stroller rental locations. They are about $40, are good quality and will save you a good bit of money over a rental.
i'm sure i'll have other questions to follow but hope someone can answer these first.

thanks.

thanks alexx.

number 3 is actually a question on which one would be better.

i'm trying to contact the hotels through email regarding bottle sterilizers. how do moms usually sterilize bottles at WDW? at hongkong disneyland, i was able to request disney hollywood hotel to provide the bottle sterilizer at no extra charge.

we're thinking of using a double stroller (1 side for the child, the other for a backpack) and i found this site, magicstrollers.com that rent out for $46 for 4days. has anyone tried this company?

thanks master yoda.

we checked out the WDW map and it seems that coronado springs hotel is in the middle of nowhere. hilton on the other hand is right in front of downtown disney. so its a little convenient to get to restaurants or if we want something else to do other than go to the parks.

would you know how moms usually sterilize bottles at WDW?

which activities should we not miss out with our 3yr old daughter? if only we could see everything :ROFLOL:

i also found park tickets at this site, where a 3day ticket has a free upgrade to a 5day hopper along with Walt Disney World® Transportation:

http://www.orlandofuntickets.com/Disney-Special-Offers/

is this a reliable site? or should i just stick to buying it straight from wdw?

I don't mean to be rude and nobody else has said it but do you really need to sterilize bottles for a 3 year old? We first took my daughter to Disneyworld when she was nine months old and my son at 12 months old. We stopped sterilizing bottles when our kids were about 6 months old after than age everything goes into their months anyway. So we didn't need the use of a sterilizer while in Disney but you could just wash out the bottles in hot water? Also we found it cheaper to buy an umbrella stroller rather than hire on. We found them on sale in Disney's resort stores and at the parks. The Disney stroller are about $40.

I would stay in coronado springs hotel, the transport is better.

thanks for the advice disDUBney.

i understand what your saying. honestly, i've been wanting to just wash the bottles and just use them. but the pediatrician said that if she drinks milk from the bottle, i would still need to sterilize it. and as a first time mom, i just followed it :-) no worries...

we'll give it a thought on buying the stroller. it would come in handy for other trips.

I totally understand, you always want to do everything by the book on your first one but when you have 3 kids, anything goes! I don't know if you can request a sterilizer but you could ask the question to the Walt Disney World moms panel, I am sure they would have the answer. Otherwise can you buy a travel sterilizer online and bring it with you?

Are you going to have a rental car or are you going to be relying on shuttle buses?

If you are using a rental car I don't think it matters which hotel you stay at. If you are using shuttles, I'd be very curious what kind of shuttle service Hilton offers. I've heard that some hotels are better than others. Just be careful about that.

Strollers:
www.orlandostrollerrentals.com
They will deliver and pick-up from your hotel. These are nice, sturdy, comfy, clean strollers.

Finally, the bottle sterilizer. I think you'll either have to ship one ahead of you or buy one after you get here. But for what it's worth, I agree with the mom who said "Why bother?" Either resort will provide a fridge for you to keep milk in. Just wash your bottles in the sink and stick a few in a cooler before you head out each day. I understand what you're saying about being a first time mom, but as long as your kid is healthy I'm not sure there's much point in sterilizing anything. Kids are dirty. Normal part of childhood.

There are several websites that offer the same deal (3-day w/upgrade to 5 day). That's what were getting when we go in June. As for reputation, it is best to check out the company at http://centralflorida.bbb.org/find-business-reviews/ You can get a company profile as well as any complaints that have been registered and how they were resolved. Hope this helps. Hope you have a great trip! Buying tickets straight from WDW will certainly be pricier.

Coronado Springs is one of the most centrally located resorts at WDW. It has very easy access to all of the parks. It's in a much better location than the Hilton at DTD.

You can also buy sterilising bags (for the microwave) for bottles, dummies, etc.. We used them for our DD but now she only uses sippy cups and the odd dummy--so boiling hot water from a coffee/tea machine works well also.
:)

Sorry I don't know the name of the company that makes the micro bags...
