I am planning a trip to WDW for the first time ever! It is still a long way off (next year in July) but I wanted to start making arrangements now as I'm from Australia so it's a big trip!
I have looked at the majority of hotels onsite and they are all so amazing! Which makes deciding incredibly difficult lol. I need a hotel that is more adult oriented (yes...it will be for my sister and me who are turning 25 haha). I also am trying to rally a group of friends so preferably one that is able to cater to groups. I don't know the difference between epcot area, or magical kingdom area or downtown disney area...so in relation to where hotels are situated which is the best and most convenient? I have no idea what distances we're working with haha. At the moment money shouldn't be a problem as I want this to be special and memorable, so am willing to pay extra for top hotels. Also, do certain hotels conduct birthday events/requests better than others? Or is it generally the same across the board?
Ok I think that's enough questions for now! Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me out with a clearer idea as to what I should be looking for :))

Yacht Club. Centrally located, you can take a boat to Epcot or Hollywood Studios - you could even walk there! You can also take a boat across the water to the Boardwalk It's a Deluxe resort, so it will really make your trip special. The lobby and rooms are gorgeous, wood and neutral tones. Everyone there is incredibly nice. It's also never loud or noisy. There are amazing restaurants, one being an incredible steakhouse, that you and your sister can enjoy. There's also room service, which is always fun. The pool is awesome, but more kid-oriented, so it's not the best for lounging out and relaxing. There is a beach, though, and it is super nice. You can walk on it, sleep on it, you just can't go in the water because the water is for transportation boats. Oh, and the Yacht Club has a sister resort, the Beach Club. They're right next to each other, but the Yacht Club is gray and the Beach Club is blue.

I hope I've persuaded you :)

I will jump on the bandwagon for picking an EPCOT resort. I have stayed at the Boardwalk, the Beach Club, and the Dolphin and I can recommend any of them for room size and comfort, location to Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, lots of lounges and great pools. There is a thread on this board about birthday cakes and ordering special ones for your occasion.
The EPCOT resorts have great onsite restaurants and of course you are steps away from walking into EPCOT through the International Gateway and enjoying cuisine from all the countries in World Showcase.
EPCOT resorts are my favorite location at WDW.
What and exciting trip to plan!
