FIRST Robotics in Epcot

Is there anybody in the WDW area that can tell me if they have began construction in the Epcot parking lot on the arenas for the Robotics competition yet? It's a pretty big set up, I would be surprised if they haven't began preparing anything yet. It's less than two weeks away. Any pictures of the site would be very appreciated.

I remember a thread a while ago asking about this. I believe the construction began quite some time ago; two weeks is just too little time to complete such a large task.

When I went to Epcot 2 weeks ago, they had a huge section of green stands for seating and a huge area for something.

Yeah, I'm kind of back now. My signature was broken when I started posting again last week so I just got rid of it all together. I think my website, where I had the picture linked to, has expired. Hopefully though I'll get a new one up one of these days.

Yep, I sure am participating in the FIRST Robotics. Our robot this year is pretty nice, I think we'll do decent. Our team will be arriving into WDW on Tuesday night, the 23rd. It was so fun last year even though our robot didn't do so hot. It was like, "Ohh well, we lost a match, lets cheer back up by going on Test Track across the street".

Sorry, I haven't sprung for a digital camera yet, but can confirm that the stands and tent for the robotics competition looks complete. Quite large, and everything sparkling white.

What is FIRST Robotics? When is it? And who can participate? I'm 14 yrs. old.

Go to www.usfirst.org. Then go to maps and then go to your state. Go to teams in the state. Look for the team in your school or closest to you. Don't forget that you can always start a team too!

My team will be on their way, but I won't be with them (I think). My team is 294, we were national champs last year. This year, we hope to win again, but hey, everyone's there for the fun of it. Is anyone else here part of FIRST?
