Let me start by saying we had a FABULOUS TIME! They had cabanas there- but no one who worked there knew how you rented them, but they were all rented . They were right under the big DJ/dancing area

Some people really dressed up and some people wore shorts and t-shirts- whatever you wanted to do was completely acceptable.
Anyway, we bought the VIP tickets- as did EVERYONE else. The only benefit was access to the balconies at The Groove and Pat O's- rookie mistake #1. When we go next year (and we plan to), we will just buy the regular ticket.
It reminded me of PI in the old days (NYE every night), but with FOOD! There were tons of tables of cheeses, breads, pastas, shrimp, carved roast beef stations, desserts- like TONS of food. We went to Tchoup Tchoup before, so we weren't hungry (rookie mistake #2). There were plenty of outside bars to grab a drink too and the lines weren't ridiculously long either.
It was crowded, but not uncomfortably so (I HATE crowds). It was party crowded :). There was room to move and room to breathe. People weren't shoulder to shoulder. The clubs were the same. We ended up spending most of the night in Rising Star (our first time there). It was SO MUCH FUN! Some people are incredibly talented, and others so untalented they're good:D.
15 minutes before midnight, the champagne started flowing. Everyone grabbed their free flute and headed outside to Europe's "the Final Countdown":joyfull: ---then fireworks:joyfull:. It was really done quite well.
There were people of all ages, everyone just having a good time. There were a few silly drunk girls, but no one was sloppy drunk- I was impressed.
So, yes, it was well worth it to go and I'm really glad we did.

Thanks for the report, sorry you got a "before" room at RPR, the renovated ones are very nice. On your report I may brave it next year and skip the VIP plus go hungry.
