What do we want to experience, since we have never been and have gone to WDW at least once a year for the past 14 years?

It will be part of our honeymoon so I would like to plan something to celebrate the occasion with the two of us. Any suggestions? Something romantic?

Any help will be appreciated

I suggest Wine Country Trattoria in DCA for a lovely place to eat, and don't forget to show your AAA card and save 10% on the bill!

Don't miss the Matterhorn, Phantom Manor, Pirates, and Space Mountain!

Have fun!

Hi There,

You definately have to Ride, Indiana Jones, Matterhorn, Space Mountain, Pirates and Haunted Mansion (Last 3 much better than the WDW Counterparts)

Romantic, Have dinner at the Blue Byou Its inside Pirates, get a waterside Table. .. Also try to Book the Fantasmic Balcony Dessert Buffet, it amazing, you get the most perfect view of Fantamic, Elevated Front Centre on the Disney Gallery Balcony and Disneyland's Fantasmic! Rocks, the PEter PAn scene is just so much better than the Lion King/ Phocohauntas Scenes that replace it at MGM.

Hope that helps, Have a great Honeymoon, and Congradualtions, DLR is Beautiful, Small, but Disneyland HAs something special about it!

How do I book that, I just went on the site and couldnt find it.....that sounds awesome.

We are really looking forward to seeing the differences/similarities in rides in comparison to WDW. Thanks for all the input.

On The Disneyland.com Site look up Priotity Seating Number or Special Events i think, if you goto the Contact us Link you will be able to find the right number, just give them a call, and they can book it for oyu, make sure it's the Balcony and not Riverside, Balcony is just SO MUCH Better :)

about the dessert buffet in DL...when it is the first day of the 30/40 day limit (I'm leaning towards the 40 day limit but I'm not sure) call the SECOND the phone lines open. My dad called like the second the phone lines open and when we got to DL my family and I had the frontmost table..(meaning the only thing separating us from the show was the railing).

and the food was really good; huge fruit ka-bobs, cheese cake, chocolate cake and other yummy food!!! and after fantasmic! hang out and you can see the fireworks.

How long are you planning to stay for? If you want to be able to check out other SoCal attractions, consider buying the CityPass. It's $199, and includes a 3-day park hopper to the DLR. It also includes Universal Studios, SeaWorld, a choice of the San Diego Zoo or Wild Animal Park, and I think some other stuff. You can purchase it through the Walt Disney Travel Co when you book your travel package.

Make sure you carve out time to go to the ocean. There are great restaurants in Santa Monica, Newport Beach, Laguna and more. A dinner at sunset right on the water...doesn't get much more romantic than that!

You guys are coming up with great ideas, Thanks. We are staying for 4 days and we actually did already buy that CityPass bceause we are going to do 2 at disney and then wanted to do universal for 1 and then something else. But thanks so much, the BIG DAY is this weekend so I am sort of last minute and these helped.

Thanks

The CityPass is great. San Diego Zoo is wonderful, but the Wild Animal Park is also great. I would choose the Zoo though, because Wild Animal Park will pale in comparison to Animal Kingdom. Wild Animal Park was built in the early 1970's and you ride an open-air monorail around the sprawling grounds. The monorail trip takes 60 minutes, you see hundreds of African animals, and the guides are very, very knowledgable. But it's going to seem quaint and a bit boring compared to the hyper-themed 21st century Animal Kingdom.

Or, Sea World in San Diego is always a good time. It is the original Sea World opened in 1964, and its been plussed and maintained beautifully over the last 40+ years. It's right on Mission Bay, and the SkyTower and gondola ride offers great views of San Diego, the harbor, the ocean, La Jolla, the mountains, etc. Honestly, does Anheuser-Busch ever operate a non-beautiful park? San Diego is also one of America's most pleasant and attractive cities. It's a great place to spend the day, and there are wonderful restaurants downtown in the Gas Lamp District. The citizenry of San Diego is just as beautiful as the scenery, everyone looks like they just got back from surfing or playing tennis and they have the "SoCal Cool" look down perfectly. I lived in an East Coast city for a couple years, that shall remain nameless, and the citizens there were some of the ugliest and most unstylish people I've ever seen. I got through it by remembering how great everyone in San Diego looked. It's a fun place to spend a day or two.

Call (714) 781-DINE for reservations for The Blue Bayou (a must!), and to see if any Fantasmic! desert seating is still available. The Fantasmic! seats go on sale 30 days prior, and they always sell out within the first few hours on that 30th day. Good luck!

For Downtown Disney restaurants, I highly recommend Catal. Avoid Tortilla Joes or Naples, I've had consistently poor service there. Granvilles at the Disneyland Hotel is a wonderful steak house, themed to the 1940's with big black and white pictures of Walt Disney dining with 1940's movie stars at the Brown Derby and glamorous places. And of course, there's Napa Rose, the finest restaurant at Disneyland Resort and one of the finest restaurants in the global Disney empire. Napa Rose also has a nice cocktail lounge where you can just get a drink, a glass of wine, or some snacks. They do a cheese course appetizer there in the lounge which is always fun to have. Ask the server to pair a glass of wine for you, and you'll get a crash course in California wines without any of the usual wine snobbery that usually goes with it in other restaurants.

Lemme guess - they call it Hollywood for ugly people? Sorry! Off topic!!

No, much farther north than DC. I also lived in Virginia for a few years, and while not really the most hip or attractive people in America, the citizenry of coastal Virginia and/or DC made the other big northeast city I lived in look like models.
