Fireworks test

Last night between 9-12 PM there was fireworks testing at the Magic Kingdom. Most of it occured about 11:30 but there was a small set just before 12 midnight.

Some high altitude shots but mostly low level fireworks that appeared to be coming from castle forcourt. These weren't the same as the ones in Cinderella's Suprise shoe as they did clear the castel.

I'm sure it some of it was from in front of the castle as it was in a pale blue light but the front of the castle would turn deep red at one particular shell burst.

They seemed to repeat the same sequences/fireworks over time and time again.

Does this mean changes to the Fantasy in the Sky or are we seeing something new here?

Many times Disney tests out new shells and new special effects to add to shows. From what that sounds like, they might be testing some new fireworks to Fantasy in the Sky along with new music and lights (???). MGM did this once, along with Epcot for Illuminations: Reflections of Earth and Tapestry.

MKT or any CM, can anyone shed some more light onto this?

I didn't particularly care for this test... seeing as I had to be up the next morning at 6am, and they were only a few short bursts... just enough to wake me, but nothing worth seeing.

They had some nice bursts though... It looked to me as if they were shooting them off to the far right of where they usually shoot them off. (This would be to the left, if you're in the MK) There's a side road off of Floridian Way near the Splash Mountain area... I always assumed it was a waste management area... (*shrug*) I'm thinking it was near this area that they got shot off. But just a guess.
