Fireworks in Disneyland?

Hey,

Are there fireworks in Disneyland over the castle, or is fantasmic the only pyrotechnic show?

Well, both yes and no; it depends on the time of year.

Disneyland has fireworks during the summer and during the Christmas holiday on a nightly basis.

Other times of the year it is more sporadic.

I have heard rumors that fireworks may start up early this year in April for Spring Break - but I have not heard concrete evidence of that yet.

Fantasmic also is seasonal. During the high times it is nightly. During the off season it is limited to Fri, Sat, and Sun. If I recall correctly, Fri and Sat Fantasmic is 2 times a night; both off and high season.

I had a friend return from Disneyland two weeks ago and she told me that the Friday nite and Saturday nite she was there they didn't have any fireworks. I found that really surprising, but maybe because it's off season??

Yup, that's exactly why. They haven't run fireworks during the offseason for a couple of years... they did in 2001/02.
