Fireworks during heatwave?

Someone just told me that he thought the fireworks were not being held in DCA and DL because of the heatwave and risk of wildfires. Is that true? If so, which shows? And what are the odds that they will resume ten days from now since the temps are supposed to drop back into the 80s when we are there.

They won't run the fireworks in winds either, and the Santa Anna winds have been horrible lately. They canceled fireworks more times than they ran them during both of our visits - May and December 2014.

Heat is generally not a factor in cancelling fireworks. Winds will cancel fireworks and the heatwave also has brought in Santa Ana winds. That would be the worry if you want to see fireworks. The DL fireworks are most susceptible to cancellation due to winds with F! possibly being cancelled if it is really gusty. World of Color should be unaffected.
As an aside the fires have brought a smoky haze to parts of Southern California

Until summer is officially here fireworks are only on weekends.

We're going the Tuesday and Wednesday after Memorial Day, and the fireworks and shows are on the Disney calendar for the days we are going to be there. Hopefully the winds will stay calm because I really want to see WOC, F! and the fireworks at DL. Thanks all.

We have family in Laguna Beach and Malibu that we will be visiting over Memorial Day weekend before we head to Anaheim. I sure hope that everyone in the vicinity of those wildfires is okay.
