Has anyone rented DVC points for BLT and gone on the rooftop for fireworks? I've read that Disney can restrict some privileges to renters...

You have to have a DVC membership card. Also they check your ID along with the membership card. So no if you are renting or a cash paying room guest you cannot access the Top if the World Lounge unfortunately.

The Lounge used to only be available to BLT owners but is now open to all DVC guests. But as stated above, photo ID is required along with your membership card.
