Well, if Ogryn does not zero in on this thread, drop him a PM, he's a bit of an anorak with Firefox.
Is that a compliment?
Hi Erik,
I've just checked the pages you mentioned, and it seems to be working fine here (although all the images do take a while to load)....
First, as posted in the PML, check in the Options that you have "Load Images From Originating Website Only"
unchecked.
There are a list of things that I can think of to work through:
1: Safe Mode
2: Clean Profile
then we'll take it from there.
1: From the start menu, find the Firefox menu, and in there there should be a option
Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode). Selecting this will run Firefox without any extensions/themes, so if the problem is solved then we can deduce that it is an extension causing headaches
2: First we need to back-up your existing profile (which stores extensions, bookmarks, form data, etc, etc). Close all Firefox instances.
<h3>Firefox</h3>
<table border="1" cellpadding="5" rules="all">
<tbody><tr>
<th> Operating system </th><th> Folder(s)
</th></tr>
<tr>
<td> Windows 9x/Me </td><td> C:\Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<Profile name>\
</td></tr>
<tr>
<td> Windows 9x/Me, alternate </td><td> C:\Windows\Profiles\<Windows login/user name>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<Profile name>\
</td></tr>
<tr>
<td> Windows NT 4.x </td><td> C:\Winnt\Profiles\<Windows login/user name>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<Profile name>\
</td></tr>
<tr>
<td> Windows 2000/XP </td><td> C:\Documents and Settings\<Windows login/user name>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<Profile name>\<br>
<p>%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<Profile name>\
</p>
</td></tr>
<tr>
<td> Unix </td><td> ~/.mozilla/firefox/<Profile name>/
</td></tr>
<tr>
<td> Mac OS X </td><td> ~/Library/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/<Profile name>/<br>
<p>~/Library/Application Support/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/<Profile name>/
</p>
</td></tr></tbody></table>
Cut the profile folder out (the one that is named full of random characters) and store it somewhere safe. Next time you start Firefox it will automatically create a new profile for you. You'll have no bookmarks or anything (yet), but these are safely stored with your old profile. Try the page now. If it works, then part of your profile had become corrupted, and I'll tell you how to get all your data back into it if needed. If it doesn't work, then you can close Firefox, delete the new profile folder, then Copy back the one had saved.
If neither of these work, then I'll have a longer think.
