After stopping by the AP Preview of Soarin' this afternoon I stopped by the MK. It looks there is still some finishing work going on with the castle decoration with some of the final touches started to be added.

The mirror has a couple of new touches that as near as I can tell change to match the dates and parks that each of the castles represented was opened. The castle images where not changing while I was there, but it looks like the park name and opening date will change based on the castle image that is visible. Some of the bunting on the bottom of the mirrow has also been added. Here's a couple of shots of these new components:

The overall mirror

You can also see some of the bunting being added to the bottom of the mirror surrounding the columns that support the mirror.

The lower banner with the park name

It was not active today, but it looks like this will be changing based on the castle image currently visible in the mirror.

The upper star with the park opening date

Again, this one looks like it changes to match the opening date of the park reference at the bottom and in the castle image.

On a side note, it appears that the Cheshire Cat is continuing his disappearing, reappearing acts just as he did in the movie. The last time I was there he had lost his bib but today, not only is the bib back, but he has ears as well.

YEA! :sohappy: I'm thrilled they have added these two new features to the mirror. One of my personal biggest complaints about the mirror was not the size (it looks good in person) but rather that the average guest would have no idea what the different castles rotating through represent or what the big "50" is for. That bottom title to "tell" us which park is being represented is just what was needed and the dates will probably help explain the idea of "50 years of theme parks". I'm a little suprised to see how small the dates look though. I'm glad they are there, but they seem a little tiny.

I didn't even notice it before, but now looking at my pictures from the week, I see that those things weren't on the mirror, and the bib was missing on monday, and then on wednesday, it looks like everything was there!

I'll have to check it all out tommorow and see what it looks like.

Great pics. Thanks for the update.

I can't for the life of me understand what is going on with th cat. Is he built to hang in two pieces? Why? He looks more goofy than Goofy.

And why is he just a head with a bib, just stuck to the castle? Where's his body? Is he coming out a window? I'm baffled. :veryconfu

If you look at the previous photos, you will see the bracket used to attach the ears.
