So how do you think they are created and how easy could they be re-created with simple materials that you could purchase at a craft and/or hardware store?:shrug:
The basic structures could fairly easily be recreated with materials from any hardware store. The outer shells require a bit more specialized materials.
I haven't seen the show (yet... I will in five weeks...), but I've seen a number of photos. I'd suggest looking into books on construction techniques for both puppets and scale models. The exteriors seem to be a combination of foam and vacuum-formed plastic, depending on which fish it is. Throw in some puppetry and ventriloquist's dummy construction, and you have a fish puppet.
